Ayatollah Khamenei says Iran should not fear challenges

Tehran - Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Saturday that Iran should not be afraid of political challenges, Western ballyhoos or dangers. "Political challenges are natural and just reflect the forward trend of our Islamic system," the Ayatollah told foreign ministry officials, including Iranian diplomats abroad.

"We should therefore not be afraid of ballyhoos by the West and dangers, the foreign ministry should act with both courage and wisdom," said Khamenei, who according to the Iranian constitution has the final say on all state matters.

The ayatollah's remarks on state television came after the the European Union on Friday brought into force the latest round of UN sanctions on Iran in the dispute over its nuclear programme.

Khamenei said Iran has expanded the thought of resistance in the Islamic world, especially countries like Lebanon and Palestine, for achieving total independence instead of bowing to world powers.

Soufi, you haven’t done your research. Iran’s military equipment belongs in museums.

Future is Ours, Go Forward without Fear ....

by soufi on

That is what Iran has done with regards to its military progress and now the enrichment process. There are  a lot more in the way of medical research and stem cell research  that has been done in Iran, and all what can tell to people is "future is ours, go forward without fear".

Persian, I agree with you

by Farhad Kashani on

Persian, I agree with you completely that if it wasn’t for world progress, Iranian people’s negative resistance, and world public opinion, these Mullahs would’ve gotten rid of every little sign of modernity in our country. They nearly did anyways. I’m sure people remember when at a time VCRs were banned in Iran. Just as an example.

And now they claim, they want “nuclear energy”! A government that has killed modernity in Iran, wants new “nuclear energy”! its banking system is ancient, its roads are historic, has one of the lowest of Internet users, it only produces 0.05% of world technology, it cannot even build toilettes anymore (Check out the news about the regime giving a Spanish company contract to build roadside public restrooms in Iran!), and now it wants “nuclear energy”!

Mollahs and progress?

by persian (not verified) on

There is no such thing as mullahs and progress. If it was in their power they would have us rides horses and donkeys instead of cars, but they have no choice but to confirm to the world progress. What ever progress we had was during the Pahlavi dynasty. They tired to say the nuclear technology was something that the Late Shah planed to make money for the west. Now we see now that they are continuing his programs. We did not have the influx of people coming from villages to big cities. Now we see there are so many people coming to big cities that Tehran has the population of 12 millions.

" Go forward", are you

by Farhad Kashani on

" Go forward", are you serious? The regime has taken us 1400 years back!

China is the one whose "going forward"! Look at the Olympics.

It will take more than one generation to repair the damages caused by the fascist regime in Tehran.

Khamenie is repeating

by Not Anonymous (not verified) on

Khamenie is repeating Khomeini's demonic pattern, which will lead thousands of Iranians to their death as it did during the Iran-Iraq war; all because of insatiable greed and lust for power. He can't let go of those oil revenues that are deposited directly into persoanl account.
