indeed they were simpler times and quieter times. At that time I suspect population of Iran might have been around 15 to 20 million with the bulk of the population residing in villages. thus cities would have been far less crowded than the madhouse it is now. Far less traffic, clean air,etc...
I also noticed picture of 'Takht tavoos' in kakh golestan. I believe that got looted by the islamo facists in their early days of victory.
