How do I get rid of the Iranian.com emails that are cluttering my mailbox? Every day I have news from this site. Although it would've been appreciated maybe a year ago when I really liked it here, today, I come when I want to. So I don't really need to know what is going on. If possible, please remove my name. I don't want Iranian.com emails.

Hi people. Do you tweet? Facebook? Would you please stop posting new dates on koseshers from two weeks ago and telling everyone else you have news of Iran? Give it up dige baba basseh. There is enough news going on that is directly happening in Iran or that will affect Iran. You don't need to post youtube links with new dates.

I refuse to believe that educated people don't know that youtube links posted on "July 6" are old. Why? Well the people in them give the date from like 2 weeks ago. Ey baba.

Ranting about doctors

Have you noticed doctors are not what they used to be? I have.

My complaints with the medical system are numerous. I’m sure I’m not the only one. From insurance companies to incompetent doctors and inefficient management of the health system, problem areas are many.

Have you been to an ER lately? It’s a mess. Have you noticed some doctors can’t live without Googling medication interactions (I’m not talking about complicated things here but is Amoxicillin from the Penicillin family or not…you’d think a doctor would know this).

I’ve been wanting to blog about porn for awhile but there are so many obstacle to such a blog. First and foremost, what else will be left? No I’m not referring to my dignity, but once I blog about porn, will there be anything else to write about? What if it’s the end of the road? Secondly, I don’t want to end up debating the politics of it, ruins the mood if you know what I mean.

But against all odds, I’ll sail forth.

Where do I begin? I feel like a kid in front of pizza, candy AND chocolate all at the same time. What to watch? What to discuss?

Do you ever think about your own death? I do.

My first contact with the other world occurred when I was much younger. The long drawn out battle of older family members with disease, ending with uneasy passages to the underworld was curious to witness.

At my grand father’s memorial service for example, my cousins and I were grouped together on the second floor of the patriarch’s house. My older cousin was given the task of keeping the rest of us sufficiently entertained with the goal of keeping us away from the funeral.

I find it very difficult to look at the recent events in Gaza and the air bombing beforehand in Lebanon and remain open minded about the politics of Israel. The number of victims alone in the occupied territories is enough for me to judge Israel as a powerful predator.

In my experience, JJ’s generous with his advice, support and encouragement. But he can also be inconsistent and malleable.

On cnn.com everyone gets the same links. No matter how many different ways you log into hotmail, you know the inbox folder will always be there. Yahoo would never remove one of your folders, not tell you, deny they’ve done it or blame it on a programming bug. Can you imagine cnn removing your link to the Entertainment section because you were looking at too many Angelina Jolie pictures?

We’re very lucky to be alive now, in 2008, instead of say 1022.

Today, we have Oprah and Dr. Phil at our disposal. They tell us how to think, behave, diet, breed not to mention vote. If you’re too busy and pre occupied with life’s adventures, you might not even realize you’re taking advice from these people.

As if these 2 aren’t enough, we have many esteemed judges. Judge Judy or Judge Matis and all of their colleagues. They hand out judicial decisions in a matter of minutes and give us life advice in between the humor and the ridicule.

I went to the mall the other day, with the intention of buying shoes of course, and I saw a very bored security guard. As I don’t like to see anyone suffer from anything, I went over and I said:

- Hey man, where's my second wind.

He looked at me, a bit amused and smiled. He told me he wasn’t sure he could help me. But I persisted. I asked him:

- Hey man, just show me how to catch my second wind.

He laughed and said:

- Ma’am, I ain’t got no clue what choo talkin’ about.

How did I get here? I ask myself. How did I become so irrational and emotional? I don't have an answer.

All I know is that it's coming. With precise certainty and mathematically calculated to the nanosecond...it's coming. And I have no where to hide.

I felt it this morning. Around 8:27 am. It was so soft and mild. Almost undetectable. But I felt it. And instantly I knew that it was coming.

According to King James I of England, smoking is “a custom loathsome to the eye, hateful to the nose, harmful to the brain, dangerous to the lungs, and in the black, stinking fume thereof, nearest resembling the horrible Stygian smoke of the pit that is bottomless”. He was a man ahead of his time! For today, the health hazards of smoking are well documented and medically indisputable. More importantly, the dangers of smoking are public knowledge.

Whenever I hear someone start a sentence with “maa irooniaa”… I know that it’ll be a negative comment.

Sometimes, I hear things like “maa iroonia taarikheh khodemoono nemidoonim”. Or, “ma iroonia nabayad ba ham kar konim”. Apparently for us Iranians, “faghat enteghad az doshman mojaz ast”. These are obviously negative attributions that Iranians allegedly have.
