Manouchehr JAMALI (Alias: Mohammad YEGANEH ARANI) who died a few weeks ago in Al-Hurain, Spain aged 84 was an Iranian Iconic figure. He was born in the village of Aran in the province of Kashan, Iran. His mother Ms YEGANEH was a well known evangelist of the Baha’I faith, but jamali himself remained a transcendental free thinker throughout his adult life.

Professor Abolghassem Ghaffari, who worked with Albert Einstein and J. Robert Oppenheimer as well as NASA's Apollo 11 mission, celebrated his 105th birthday with his dear friends, the Honorable Jimmy Delshad (former Mayor of Beverly Hills, who currently serves as that city's Goodwill Ambassador) and talented artist Kamran Khavarani, who drew his sketch for his 102nd birthday.

Dr. Ghaffari helped NASA to put a man on the moon for the Apollo 11 mission. That was a celebrated day in his life and recently, an equally important one arrived on June 15, 2012; he turned 105 years old.

It is with deep sadness that we have learned of the passing of our distinguished friend and colleague, the Iranian-American sociologist Dr. Mehrdad Mashayekhi. A prominent political analyst and public intellectual, Mehrdad Mashayekhi died Wednesday October 5, 2011, at his home in Vienna, Virginia.

Dr. Mashayekhi was born in 1953 in Tehran and had lived in the U.S. since 1972. He received his B.A in economics from Case Western Reserve University (1976) and Ph.D in sociology from the American University (1979).
