For Aghasi, For Hamid, for social Justice

I was introduced to late Aghasi through Hamid, an ardent communist who sadly was murdered by the islamist regime in the summer of 1989. Hamid was an ardent communist. He was a comrade of my late uncle who all became communists during the shah's era as young engineering students at tehran "polytechnic". Hamid was from Dezful in the province of khoosestan, and  from a humble background. His father was a worker in the National Iranian Oil company in Abadan. Hamid told me that Aghasi was hugely popular amongst oil workers in Abadan, as he was considered to be "one of us" by the oil workers.

Hamid used to talk to me a great deal about a concept called "edalate ejtemaai" (social Justice). Now, quarter of a century since the last time I spoke to Hamid, with his intelligent looks, his humble clothing, I can only honour this patriot and all his comrades, with a great song from Late Aghasi.

Here, to late Hamid, my late uncle and all their comrades who sactrificed their lives for the cause of "social justice". Here to to the greatest cause ever. The cause for "social justice". Enjoy!

VPK I realize your upset at the consequences of others actions.

The lesson in life is what's important to me that you get fellow iranian and others get of all humanity in order to improve their lives and those of their loved ones.  Wisdom is learning from others too.So you never make the same mistakes.

Here is my wisdom on this, if you are pursuing something that is unbelievably good you are likely to produce and experience something that is unbelievably bad.  That is the complexity of life.  And its more true than you know, though not always true.

Social Justice, like human rights because they don't exist for all is no reason to give up on them.  It's just critical to be believable about it.  I live in a constitutional monarchy called u.k., education, health and poverty safety net for all, it's not generous or perfect but its better than nothing.  Poor guy had good intentions and look what happened to the iranian people based on results of his activities, that has a very sad side to it.  Iranians who enjoyed free education for all were about to enjoy free healthcare for all by 1982 and I am sure by now we would be a far more socially just society than the USA.  In terms of results we were harmed badly.

God bless the souls of all those who have left us....! But....

But, let's not confuse the "gone souls" with the "patriots"!?

The latter were those uniformed men and women who day in and day out protecting and securing the land, sea, and air space of Iran while those late comrades were "protesting!"

I agree the whole thing is a sham. If you want to help start a company and hire people. Give them good benefits and a good pay. Or become a teacher and help teach people skills that are needed.

*** social justice there is no such thing. The whole "workers paradise" thing is nonsense. One by one nations that experimented with it realize it does not work. I have a friend who does philantropy in Nicaragua. He works in a remote village. He asked one of the long time residents: when were you best off in your life. The guy now 90 said without a doubt when Somoza was president. Guess the revolution did not make the villagers any better off. At least not in that village.

Pity these guys did not support the shah, God bless Aryamehr.

The late shah had done so much more than any one before him or since in service of not just freedom, but social justice.  The millions of Iranians that worked in the Steel Industry and Irans new Industries will never forget the generosity of the shah or his focusing on social justice for Iranians.

A star stopped shining for iranians in 1979 as a result of the pitiful actions of many.

I wish no one had died for social justice

by Mehrban on

It is all a sham.  It is the ones that die that pay the price and are cheated.  Nothing is worth these beautiful people dying for.   What is social justice anyway!  Roozbeh don't ever die for social justice! or anything else. Ever!
