The Berlin-based Persian composer Reza Boroon has set one of lyrics of Simin Behbahani "Naghmeh-ye Dard" to music.

The vocal piece is arranged for Persian instruments and strings by Mohammad Bayat. The young singer Iman Nourian has performed the vocal parts.

The video includes an appreciation by Simin Behbahani as well which is recorded in October 2012 at her home.

I didn't read any reviews of "Argo" before seeing it. I did not want to be affected by any of them. I had heard that some Persians have felt ashamed about what their fellow countrymen did back in 1979 at the US Embassy in Tehran, and some believe the movie gives a negative impression of Iranians to the world.

Last night, 9th Nov. 2012, Sepideh Raisssadat performed a concert in Amsterdam; works by Hamid Motebassem, Ramin Azimian and Pejman Zahedian. More than 350 people attended the event.

Unfortunately it was one of the last Persian music concerts at Tropentheater, the most active venue of world music in The Netherlands. The activities of the institute will be stopped in mid-2013 following the economic crisis in Europe.

The Dutch director Kees Roorda has written and directed a play entitled "Farah Diba, World's Prettiest Woman".

The play which is inspired from the life of the last queen of Persia and also the documentary "Queen and I", was premiered on 19th Oct 2012 in Haarlem, The Netherlands. More than 250 people attended the premiere.

This lecture was a part of book presentation of "The Great Ummar Khayyam" which was organized at SPUI25 Cutural Center in Amsterdam, with cooperation of Leiden University Press.
Khayyam is a 11st-century Persian poet, astronomer and mathematician.
