O Brother Warden, Where Art Thou

There is a new generation of IRI-supporters on Iranian.com. They want to seek respect by quoting all sorta the right one-liners such as “Islamic Democracy”. In addition, they like to project love by calling you “brother/sister” to make you feel all cozy inside. But, if you think that they would turn the other cheek if objected, watch out - they probably have a real brethren behind you who will kick you in the a$$. OK, they do not have a person behind you but they will cry foul telling us that 1. we are not real democrats, 2.

JJ,

While you and I have not completely agreed in the past, your policies are consistent and therefore OK with me. You have created a conduit by which all Iranian factions are able to express opinions. You even allow writings by individuals with tenuous evidence to accuse you of being, e.g., a NIAC-cyber-army member and therefore, an IRI-agent in disguise. You ain't no IRI-agent in my book.

Why write to your representatives?

Why bother writing at all? Firstly, in general, by expressing your opinion as a constituent, your let your representatives who are sitting on the bench to lean one way or another. Secondly, in the case of MKO, I really do not want the neo-cons to erect an opposition even worse than IRI. By legitimizing MKO, it will give them a tremendous platform in the US to raise money for themselves, and influence policies in D.C.

The US Navy response regarding Persian Gulf vs. Arabian Gulf

The US Navy and the US State Department responded to the massive e-letters generated by the Iranian-Americans thru the Iranian-American interest groups. Apparently, the US government still officially uses Persian Gulf (or probably in response to the massive campaign!!!), however, when ships are stationed in the numerous Arabic stations in the Persian Gulf, the navy uses the local names and the Arabic states around the Persian Gulf use Arabian Gulf.

The following is the response from the US Navy. The email from the State department was very similar.
