Iranians, The Camel Jockeys

If you have lived in the United States you should have heard the expression Camel Jockey. It's a derogatory term to belittle middle easterners especially Iranians. To your surprise, it is a well-suited term for us, as you might remember the modern Iran, without camels roaming the streets of Tehran started to form well after world war two about hundred years after the west started the industrial revolution. So, yes we were camel jockeys and that is fairly recent history of us if you put it in perspective to our long history.

I recently missed a near wall-head-banging-event (WHBE) by following all the hoopla surrounding the Lake Urumiah phenomenon. It is a sad occurrence but it's the nature. Iran and many of other countries are experiencing an unprecedented drought. Not that this is hard enough a few days ago our Azeri reps in the Iranian house were proposing a government interference to fix the problem going as far as asking the Ahmadi's admin to pump water from Aras river into the lake. Let's keep this here and move on to another topic that triggered my WHBE so I decided to bang my head against IC 's wall:

Often it’s been said that when a newcomer to Madinah wanted to visit prophet Mohammad (PBUH) s/he would be directed to his important meetings in his mosque next to his residence. So here it is a newcomer to a new community looking for someone who has never seen but heard a good deal about him.

S/he gets into meeting, looks at people around a circle, whom all look alike, no ranks, no signs, no tall crowns, no fancy clothing, not even a sign of visible superiority since they all were sitting in a circle.

So sit down and read the rest:

You might have noticed that recently I posted a blog, imagining all of us on a tour bus to Iran. I don’t know what your individual take was on the whole idea but something today profoundly touched me. As I was searching for something on my blog, I noticed the avatar for ‘humanbeing’ has changed. She has posted her own picture. What it tells me is that something about the atmosphere in Iranian.com was momentarily changed that allowed an outsider, according to her, feel comfortable enough to show her picture.

During this spring break, god blessed me with the privilege of performing my most imperative religious duty, the one that god has demanded me to perform as soon as I become financially, mentally and physically prepared in full. As the call of duty came, and the light of compassion shined down on my heart, I came out of my business outfit, abandoned work and materialistic life, changed into my shorts and T-shirt, put on my flip-flops and took my son to the Disney World.

The way western governments treat Iranian government regarding the nuclear issues and Iran’s rule in international community.

We all know that when west and Russia come to Iran’s issue they follow a double standard. They have frequently denied Iran’s right to nuclear issue, ignored her right to have a say in critical international issues even when it directly affects her, and also they don’t hesitate to reject or delay her requests for a fair treatment with respect to her internal and external affairs such as legitimate defense and international policies.

If you are an avid reader of Iranian.com website you should have noticed by now that the site administrators and its founder Mr. Javid have been always walking on a sharp blade. This blade of criticism and spiky accusations sometimes get out of proportionally bitter when the subject comes to Art. Since Art uses common tools and concepts to convey its message some people wrongfully assume that the Art’s message is also common and simple. Far from it, in a true Art there is everything but simplicity.
