I wrote a report on the “Friends of Iranian Culture” conference in Persian at the beginning of September which was posted on Iranian.com. Some friends asked me to translate it into English, so non-Persian speakers are able to read it. Here it is in English:

ارامنه اوّلین ملیّتی هستند که در قرن بیستم به صورت دسته جمعی قتل عام شدند و از آن پس بعلّت شکنجه و پراکندگی، زندگی کردن در تبعید در کشورها و حتّی قاره های مختلف را بخوبی آموخته اند.

I think I am jinxed.

I lost my favorite brother,

I lost my favorite sister,

I lost my best friend - all - to death.

I lost my two favorite bosses

Luckily, this time, not to death,

But to their job promotions!

I am living away from my two children.

I have learned either not to love anybody

In fear of losing them,

Or, just to love people from a distance.

What My Poem and “Madame Bovary” Shared?

A few days ago, my poem “Sale” was posted on Iranian.com, my favorite site. A day or two after that when I checked the site the poem was gone and I could not find it anywhere. Later, I read about the hard disk and technical problem that the site encountered. Today, when I did my daily pilgrimage to the site, the poem had returned home from its journey!
