bab`aziz

In my search for iranian movies with english subtitles (for my language training) I found this movie: bab`aziz.

A story about pedarbozorg and his little granddaughter Ishtar, together crossing the desert in search for a sufimeeting (they only take place every 30th. year). Note: pedarbozorg is blind!

Stunning pictures, beautiful music and an enchanting story!!!

You can`t help getting fascinated by pedarbozorg played by Parviz Shahinkhou and charmed by Ishtar (Maryam Hamid)

I found this song on YouTube but I am not able to recognize the name of the artist - nor the song title.

Does he sing in farsi? What is the song about?

I like it so much and I would appreciate to know more about it..

Shoam mitoni ke komakam konid?

A distant calling......

I can close my eyes and picture my feet sinking deep into something soft. Is it snow or desert sand ??I can picture smells from different meals based on ancient recipes and flowers that does`nt bloom where I live: in Scandinavia. I hear new tones and languages whispering in the wind, accompanied with music twisted in rhytms that excites my heart. I am told new histories, that took place a long long time ago and I see faces that though unknown yet seems so familiar.
