Sanctions Do Not Prohibit Iranian Americans from Flying Iran Air

Washington, DC, (NIAC) - Iranian Americans may continue to travel using Iran Air, despite the recent imposition of sanctions on the company, according to the U.S. Treasury’s sanctions enforcement agency and the U.S. State Department.

Officials at the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control and State Department have confirmed to NIAC that indeed U.S. individuals may continue to purchase tickets and fly on Iran Air.

Friday night, the U.S. Senate voted to pass disastrous legislation under the auspices of getting "tough" on Iran. Unfortunately, the bill is only "tough" on the Iranian people, punishing them in the midst of their historic struggle for rights while hamstringing the President as he deals with Iran's nuclear program. To top it off, the world's greatest deliberative body spent a whopping 5 minutes debating the bill.

The Latest Tool for Iran's Opposition: iPhone Apps

Iranians will soon have a new tool at their disposal to broadcast their protests and their government's repression to the outside world. Voice of America announced last week that it will unveil a new application for iPhone and Android mobile devices that will enable Iranians to upload videos, photos and other content to the VOA's Persian News Network. The app will be available for download on VOA's website, as well as through VOA's Twitter and Facebook accounts, and even from the Apple store.
