Canadian Actress Nazneen Contractor joins Iranian Canadian Talk Show Host Jian Ghomeshi in Studio Q to discuss life on CBC Television's "The Boarder" and Stratford's Shakespearean festival.  Contractor is Parsi — Indian of Persian descent — and a Zoroastrian. Yet, she says, she grew up with Muslim friends and patterned Layla on them. Nazneen Contractor plays the new kid on the Immigration and Customs Security team and Graham Abbey plays her partner. The show is shot in Toronto. (CBC)

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't seen the series yet though its been showing on French TV.

To be quite honest I am not much of a fan of Police Stories like NYCB or other similar shows. Too much violence and same type of scripts and dialogue.

But I know there is a following and people have different tastes. As for the political controversy, I think such series actually thrive on such debates in order to get a following.

As for Nazneen I hope that the series can at least lead her to more interesting roles. She could have played in Prince of Persian the Sands of Time. ;0)

Its A Missed Opportunity ... too bad !

I don't watch the show, but she's pretty enough I looked into it! Unfortunately, after reading that the show is considered anti-American by many (including a lot of Canadians who seem to think being anti-American is a plus) I won't be setting it up on TiVo. Maybe she can get a job on an American show after this thing gets cancelled? Or do they even cancel shows in Canada? In any case, she should move to Los Angeles and get a real job. She's make an excellent Vulcan first officer on a new Star Trek series, for instance!
