On August 10th, Time Magazine columnist and CNN TV host Fareed Zakaria apologized for a column where he phrased a fashionable idea about gun control in a way quite like someone else's article published earlier in the New Yorker magazine. Was it really plagarism or just absent-mindedness? Pedantic hair splitters insist it was plagarism, less agenda prone observers give him the benefit of the doubt. Regardless, Time and CNN have both suspended Zakaria for plagarism.

The American public is applauding Iran for handing down the death sentence to four Iranian bankers convicted of fraud. The last time Iran became the envy of America was in 2009 when Iranian election protesters stood up to the IRI. This time though, it is the IRI who is receiving the standing ovation. A while back I was reading a review of a book where it said Gandhi had a gay affair going on with a German-Jewish body builder, and I was thinking for God’s sake why am I wasting time on this tabloid stuff? First it was Tom Cruise rumors, then John Travolta, then the Shah of Iran, then Anderson Cooper…and now Gandhi?! I stopped reading.

بتازگی در این تارنما به نوشته‌ای برخوردیم که در آن از واژه "سپوختن" استفاده شده بود: "...زیدی را به سپوختن در زیر کار داشت." آمار گیری در یک نشست ادبی‌ نشان داد که بسیاری از دوستان با این واژه باستانی آشنایی ندارند.

نخیر، منظور این نیست که انتخابات جمعه در ایران درست اجرا شد یا نه‌. اگر جوابش به این آسونی‌ها بود که ارزش بلاگ کردن نداشت. مساله بنیادی تر از این هاست. بعضی‌ انتخابات جوری هستند که اگر حضرت سلیمان هم مسئولش بود (این حضرت در اجرای عدالت خیلی‌ وضعش خوب بود) و همه آرا به درستی‌ شمرده میشد، باز هم سر مردم کلاه میرفت.
