Chauvinists vs. Shadi Sadr: stubbornness isn't an option.

The timing isn't right for settling old scores between Iranian men and women. Right now we need all the teamwork we can muster to fight the dictatorship. But we've been saying this forever, and never getting around to it. Time to reframe the issue in terms where "now isn't the time" seems physiologically unrealistic.

That is one funny cartoon!  hehehe ;-) I bet someone would love to post that sign in his or her establishment!  Personally I never want to stop hearing about men and women settling scores with humor!  I love men and women comedians' routines about the other sex.  I find them very funny.  This cartoon for example :-)

Your point about waiting for a "better" time to address the women's unequal rights in Iran is well taken.  "Now is not a good time" has always worked for the oppressors.  Islamic Republic used "now is not the good time" after the Iran Iraq war to "now is the best time" to liquidate tens of thousands of young activists.

Our good friend Mr. Bagherzadeh actually wrote about now is a good time to support women's rights and their equal rights demands.  Once again Islamic Republic is going to use the green movement's opportunity to liquidate more activists and women seem to be the lowest hanging fruit.

After suffering 31 years under inequality and injustice now is the best time to make changes.

Everything is sacred.
