Too much talk of the past?

Too much talk of the past?

    * In almost every discussion among Iranians overseas , there is talk of the shah .

    * What he did or did not do ? How good or bad he was compared to IRI ..

    * The previous regime finished over 30 years ago. Learning from the past is good , however harping on about it too much can only distracts the focus on present and future.

Reza Pahlavi in his recent interview in Germany , He stated that once the regime has been removed , and after a short transitional government, people should be asked to vote for republic or monarchy. He said that he advocates monarchy instead of republic for Iran.

Nuclear Iran

I posted this in reply to a blog on sanctions. Since it is subject of its own, I am posting this to gauge the opinion of Iranians visiting this site. Iran should move towards nuclear power. This is for power generations as well as military capability.

We need nuclear power for Iran for obvious reasons. We should also have nuclear “capability” militarily.

Iran can and should be a superpower in the region and this is a pre-requisite. This is a purely nationalistic view. It does not endorse or support IRI.

International community?

International community?

Why no one in the media points out the fact that USA , UK and France do NOT make up the “International community”.

This media hype around this “new” site ( that they all new about since 2006 ), is like listening to the news 6 or 7 years ago before they invaded Iraq. How can this be in a so called democracy?

Why no one in the media does not mention the illegal activities of Israel in the occupied lands, or their nuclear weapons and non membership of NPT?

Green Movement and students

I find it interesting that the majority of students seem to be looking to Karobi and Mousavi as potential leaders.

One hopes that these guys are a lot more in touch with the feel of this movement than the average Iranian outside.

You do see the occasional mojahed ( hand clapping style maybe ) and not much else.

Are they keeping these demonstrations very generic on purpose. Or are they truly green?

Student demonstrations was very prominent during revolution days also. They followed the main anti shah movement then.

Camp Ashraf

I posted this a while ago and asked the question. No one supporter of Mojahedin came forward for any kind of logical explanation.

Maybe they do not visit this site.Well , I try one more time.I really would like to know "why" from a mojahed?

1- Why do the leaders of mojahedin insist on these 3500 people staying in Camp Ashraf , in Iraq?

What is the more likely scenario ?

1-Ahmadinejad is out ,

2- Mousavi voted in as president ,

3- Khamenei dies

Majority / Minority

Regardless of recount or not , fraud or not , allowing for large margins of erroc , one fact is not denied by anyone.

Both ahmadinejad and Mousavi collected over 10 million votes each.violent suppression of these silent protets of our hamvatans is shameful and criminal. However , are we to forget about the 10 million also hamvatans who voted for Ahmadinejad?

What are they suppose to do?

Reza Pahlavi and today's elections

Reza Pahlavi gave a recent interview in France.

When he was asked to express his view on if Iranians should vote or not?He said that he would not vote. This was the nearest he was going to get in asking people not to vote.

The news from Iran is that the turn out has been the highest ever?!It looks though as if the masses have not taken on board the message/guidlines from the only body ressembling an opposition.

Where does this leave Reza Pahlavi and his mission?
