Execution of Five (5) Kurdish Prisoners in the Evin Prison in Iran

According to Kurdish Human Rights Association this morning May 9th 2010 the Islamic Regime executed five (5) Kurdish prisoners four (4) of whom were political prisoners in the Evin Prison.

Those executed are:

1. Farzad Kamangar
2. Ali Heydariyan
3. Farhad Vakili
4. Ms. Shirin Alam-Hooli and Mehdi Eslamiyan
5. Mehdi Eslamiyan

It must be noted that Ms. Shirin Alam Hooli’s case was still in the process of appeal and no judgement had been rendered.

Below is the most recent list of political and “security risk” prisoners in Gohardasht which was obtained through a confidential and reliable source in Iran. Many of the prisoners named above are “forgotten” and lesser known prisoners who have been in the Islamic Regime Prisons for many year and have lengthy prison sentenced due to their political activities.

According to news received from confidential sources the water at Rajaishahr Prison has been cut off for the past three (3) days. Prior to that the water used for washing, drinking and cooking was not clean water, but contaminated water, as a result any food cooked with that water was also contaminated.

As a result many prisoners are suffering from infections and other diseases. At a time like this when the prison clinic should be caring for the prisoners, instead they have refused to give any medications to prisoners for treatment.

Iranian Student Association at York University Displaying Clear Signs of Support for the Islamic Regime?

Recently it was brought to my attention that the Iranian Student Association at York University has been openly and publicly displaying the flag of the Islamic Regime at York University.

For non-Iranians who may not be familiar with the “flag issue” in Iran, it is important to give a bit of background. Prior to the Islamic Regime coming to power in 1979 the Iranian flag was a green, white, and red with the symbol of the Lion and Sun in the middle.

On Tuesday February 23rd 201 Islamic Regime security forces “captured” Abdulmalik Rigi, the 27 year old leader of the armed Balouchi/Iranian opposition group Jundullah.

Recently a female political prisoner Ms. Shirin Alam Hooli was sentenced to death in Iran for allegedly being a member of a Kurdish opposition organization PJAK.

Below is the translation of her letter from prison which was written on January 18th 2010 which describes the torture and interrogations she underwent before her death sentence was handed down. Please keep in mind that I am not a profession translator, however I have done my best to translate the letter word for word.

Mr. Arash Rahmanipour and Mr. Mohammad Reza Ali Zamani were executed this morning (Thursday January 28th 2010), due to their peaceful participation in the recent post [s]election protests.

In total 11 protestors have been sentenced to death. There is no information about the identity of these individuals.

The Hamilton Coalition to Stop the War has invited Phil Wilayto an Ahmadinejad sympathizer to speak at McMaster University in Hamilton on Wednesday January 27th at 6:30pm.

Yesterday January 23rd 2010 I attend an event which was organized in honour of Neda Aghal Soltans 27th birthday. As many may already know Neda was a young Iranian woman who was shot to death by Islamic Regime agents during the recent protests in Iran. If she had not been murdered so unjustly she would have been 27 years old yesterday.
