Now that is something to be proud of as an Iranian American. An Iranian-American doctor who migrated from Iran to Utah when he was a teenager, and had a dream of opening a clinic when he became a doctor.

His dream finally came true when he opened his first free clinic, the Maliheh Free Clinic in Salt Lake City, named after the deceased grandmother Maliheh Abdollahi of the clinic’s Iranian-American funder.

I was talking to one of my customers today who is Jewish from Israel. I was talking about how he really felt about Arabs and Muslims in general and he said "there are many Muslims that beleive Israel belongs to Jews". So I thought perhaps he was talking abotu seculare Muslims who are really tired of Palestinians Israeli issues and agreed with him. Later I wanted to investigate this on my own so I googled "Muslim Zionism" and here there was many articles including a Wikipedia entry:

I have been checking out this site since the 90s and to be honest with you I am hooked on it. I am a moderately a conservative but fair and logical and there are times when I see a some articles and posts here on Iranian.com that I don’t agree with but still I feel I belong to no other Iranian online community than this one.

Iran gets a point from Arabs

It seems Ali Daie's bullish style of coaching paid off and Iran was able to get a point from Saudi Arabia in an away game.

Although Iran played a very crappy game the most of the game, Osauana's striker, nekounam scored an equalizer and tied the game on an away game. In my opinion this is a huge achievement for team melli considering how much money Arabs spend on their soccer and how little Iran does. They have world class coaches and programs while our coach, great Ali Daie struggles to hold trainings and get the players he wants on time.

The title for Euro 2008 is to be decided tomorrow when two European soccer powerhouses are going at it. My favorite team Spain is going to face my old favorite team Germany.

I liked Germany back in 80s when they had Klinsman, Luthar Mattews, and Rudy Fuller playing for them. I still remember when they beat Maradona’s Argentinia and won the world cup in 1990.

The reason I liked them was that they were a very powerful tactical team. But in 90s rest of the world was able to catch up and as the result they have never been the same again.

We did something nice at Soccer Nation, and team up with "Anything Can Happen" shirt brand and Calle
street soccer brand and went down to Ensenada Mexico to a small impoverished neighborhood to support their youth soccer team and their programs. We donated balls, jerseys, tshirts, footwear, and etc and it was a rewarding experience we will never forget.

How to End Racism on this Site

There isn't a day that I come on this site that I see all sort of racist content, blogs, articles, or even comments. Being Persians and believing in equality of all humans regardless of their gender, race. Or belief, I think we should really end that on this site.

And this is how we can end all these racists stuff on this site. Simply DO NOT REPLY to any of them. Let those narrow minded ones among us to see that they are not taken seriously so they can take their agenda elsewhere.

Beach Soccer Tournament

There was a beach soccer tournament last weekend, (May 3rd and May 4th),
at Oceanside Harbor in San Diego. Soccer Nation Soccer Store, a family business, was one of the major sponsors of that
event.

I recommend you, your kids, or your club participate in this great event next year it is for all age and it is alog of fun. Over 250 teams were there all ages here some some pictures.

Dean of Stanford University believes Iran's Sharif University of
Technology has the best under graduate Electrical Engineering school in the world. Yup that is #1 in the world.

When studying computer science here in California, one of my college professors said he was very impressed with the Iranians students from that school in international programming competition.Certainly something to be proud of :

I have been out of touch with NBA for a while. I stopped following their games after the Kobe Shaq thing. In fact I was a big NBA fan back in the 80s and early 90s when players like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Patrick Ewing, and others were playing.

They call us the powerhouse of Asia but we haven’t won an Asian cup in almost 30 years! They say we have the most talented players in the Asia but we saw them in do nothing in the last world cup and the last Asian cup. Also our Olympic team hasn’t made it to Olympics for past several Olympics. Our European based players are mostly bench warmers and some even don’t make it to the benches! So much with our talents!

Politics and religion divide people. Sports and entertainment unite them. At this time and age, we the Iranians need to be united regardless of our differences in our political and religious views.

I believe Iranian.com should bring sports back. I know there are plenty of Iranian websites for sports, but there aren't many community sites where covers politics, lifestyle, and sports at once.
