Bulgarian Sirni Zagovezni

It may sound strange to you but Chahar-Shanbeh-Soori is similar to a Bulgarian Christian Orthodox ritual, called "Sirni Zagovezni" which is also celebrated about the same time of the year by jumping over bonfires to chase away the evil spirits.  See:  //www.smh.com.au/ftimages/2009/03/02/12358423...
