The Most Fragile

The Glass House, competing in the World Documentary category at the Sundance Film Festival, is a one of those rare films that make you forget that you are watching a documentary. Hamid Rahmanian and Melissa Hibbard have given us a documentary that flows as easily as the tears of their young and troubled protagonists. آزادی جنسی نامحدود

صیغه بخشی از ساختار رابطه جنسی زن و مرد در ایران را تشكیل می‌دهد. برای ‌بررسی پدیده صیغه باید به شناخت و كالبدشكافی این ساختار كه سیاست جنسی‌ حاكم را بر اساس سنت/فقه/قانون تعریف كرده است پرداخت. در این ساختار به جنسیت زن و مرد دو نقش كاملا متمایز در رابطه جنسی‌ با یكدیگر داده شده است. نهاد ازدواج تعریف شده در این ساختار یك رابطه كاملا یك طرفه است، رابطه ای‌ كه از سوی زن بسته است و از سوی‌ مرد باز. در هر زمان ‌زن فقط با یك مرد می‌تواند رابطه داشته باشد ولی مرد می‌تواند با چند زن رابطه جنسی برقرار كند. تعدد زوجات یكی از لوازم این ساختار است. ولی‌ محدود كردن آن به عدد دلبخواهی «4»، اصل «باز بودن» رابطه جنسی از سوی‌ مرد را نقض می‌كند. صیغه یكی دیگر از لوازم این ساختار است كه تناقض اخیر را نیز رفع می‌كند. نهاد صیغه اصولا برای ‌تأمین آزادی جنسی نامحدود مرد تعبیه شده است و نمی‌توان از آن به عنوای وسیله‌ای محترمانه برای به قاعده درآوردن روابط جنسی خارج از ازدواج بین زن و مرد بهره گرفت>>>

The right to insult

Holiday seasons are excuses for gathering and parties and fun. As usual this Christmas night became a perfect pretext to gather with friends, play games, eat, drink and be asked, as in all parties: “got any new jokes?” or “ let me tell you a joke”. However, when the joke telling starts, before you know it, the red zone is trespassed and male’s mother and sisters become subjects to all types of verbal aggression with sexual tone.In the following lines, I would like only to state what went though my mind, hearing men sharing their rhetorical (!) gifts of jokes and friendly insults to each other, over a game of backgammon and even in discussing a point>>>

سانسور را با بیش از یک "س" می نویسند

در جلسه ی کتابم شعرم شیرین و مرد نمکی آقایی که زمانی با هم بیشتر دوست بودیم در آنتراکت آمد با من حرف بزند. به عادت رفتاری معمولش دست مرا گرفت و با آنکه بدنم مقاومت می کرد به طرف خود کشید تا با زور در آغوش بگیرد و ببوسد. صدایی در سرم گفت بگو " دستت را از من بکش، آقا". اما زود این صدا را سانسور کردم و طبق عادت رفتاری معمولم هیچ نگفتم؛ حتی لبخند هم زدم. شنیدم بعد از من این مرد رفته بود دست روی خانم دیگری از دوستان گذاشته بود که آن دوست، آن زن نازنین، بر خلاف من جلو اش در آمده بود و گفته بود: ببینم تو اجازه گرفتی دست گذاشتی رو من؟>>>

اسلحه ای قویتر از خنجر

خانم مهین اشتری در همان دقایق اول با ایفای نقش قوی خود مرا مجذوب موضوع داستان کرد و چیزی نگذشت که فهمیدم آقای کاظم اشتری کیست. از این گونه کاظم ها ما در جامه بسیار داریم و در زندگی روزمره با آنها برخورد داشته ایم. ولی آنچه نظیرش کمتر هست خود خانم اشتری است. او با یک تفکر واقع گرایانه و با استفاده از رنج های پنهانی سالهای سپری شده اش تصمیم گرفته بجای کینه و بجای دشمنی با معشوقه ی سابق همسرش ، که او نیز قربانی آقای اشتری بوده ، یک همکاری دوستانه و منصفانه را آغاز کند که بنفع خودش ، دخترش و معشوقه ی سابق همسرش باشد. تمام زیبایی و نکته نمایشنامه در همین تصمیم خلاصه می شود که بسیار انسانی، فمینیستی و خرد گرایانه است و اسلحه ایست قویتر از خنجر!>>>

One is enough

Children develop self-esteem and a sense of well-being when they are raised in a nurturing and loving environment. If abandoned by either parent, children may feel unwanted or unloved. When attention and praise are withdrawn, or absent, children often respond by becoming anxious and/or depressed. During my work in the Saudi kingdoms ch2 TV as a director and presenter of social program- titled with Dr. Parisa.- each week I covered a real life story of abused women and children coming from broken families. In making these life stories, I interviewed many social workers, teachers and therapists who treat abandoned women and children. I also visited charity centers such as Al-Al-ashram, Al wafa, Ensan king abdoulazize and others>>>

‏برگشتن روزگار سهل است

روز پنجشنبه ۱۸ ارديبهشت ۱۳۵۹ روزنامه کيهان نوشت: "ساعت يک و نيم بامداد امروز فرخ‌رو پارساي تيرباران ‏شد". مرده‌شوي‌ها از شستن جسد وي خودداري کردند زيرا وي به نام "مفسد في‌الارض" اعدام شده بود. زنان خانواده ‏بودند که پيکر وي را شستند و ديدند که سه تير به زير سينه‌اش اصابت کرده و از پشت بدنش خارج شده است. اين ‏سرنوشت زني بود که در خانه مادري چون فخرآفاق پاراسي ناشر مجله "جهان زنان" و پدري چون فرخ‌دين پارساي از ‏روزنامه‌نگاران بنام زمانه خود پرورش يافته بود. پدر و مادري که تلخي توقيف و تبعيد را در کشاکش تناقضات دوراني ‏که ايران راهي نوين را در پيش گرفته بود، چشيده بودند. مادر از پيشتازان مبارزه براي حقوق زنان و از ياران صديقه ‏دولت‌آبادي بود و پدر در شمار کساني که زبان خود را نگاه نمي‌توانستند داشت.‏>>>

Lessons from inside the ring

I understand that there is great political sensitivity when it comes to addressing women’s needs and rights in Iran and which with the increased activism on the part of women in demand of their rights is also on the rise, making it difficult for the UN and even some sympathetic government officials to work with women’s rights groups in addressing women’s needs. But certainly I believe that at a minimum there should be efforts expended to understand, take into account and build upon the innovative work which women’s rights activists in Iran have done. In fact, this should be a prerequisite for anyone wanting to address women’s rights and issues>>>

A Dead Man, a Wife, a Mistress, and a Daughter

Last March I went to see Darvag Theater’s play, In Memory of Kazem Ashtari with dear friends in Berkeley. I was blown away by the play’s original storyline, the crisp and clever dialogue, and the stellar performances of its cast. I found the whirlwind of plot twists and developments dazzling and so entertaining! Sepideh Khosrowjah’s dialogues all through a complex plot were exquisitely simple, yet thought provoking. What would a woman do when her husband dies suddenly? What would she and her late husband’s mistress tell each other if they were to meet? This story is delicious!>>>

The perfect home

“The Woman of Willendorf”, is the oldest human figurine known to the mankind. The 11-centimeter statute shows a faceless female body with out-of-proportionally large breasts, large tummy and accentuated reproductive organ. This ornament that was made in Austria about 30,000 years ago is neither a representation of a typical prehistoric female body nor comparable to Roman and Greek art in which women are subject to the wild fantasies. You might ask what the heck is it then? One of the strongest theories suggests that it is the symbol of Earth. Having this in mind makes it easier to understand that the large body parts are strictly symbolizing the concept of fertility. From Willendorf village 30,000 years ago to Las Vegas metro in 2006, we hear one voice. The mother earth for thousands of years has provided us with an infinite amount of resources>>>

We still have a dream

While sexual assault and rape in Iraq war remains largely ignored and disregarded, while the incidence of acid attacks and rape of Afghan Women in recent weeks by Taliban forces remains unresolved, while women in Iran still enduring violence, arrest, detention and harassment perpetuated by government in physical space and cyberspace and on November 25th, the website of advocates for changing the discriminatory laws against women in Iran was filtered for the 17th time and while the endless atrocities against women in Congo, Sudan and Rwanda, forced prostitution and trafficking , honor killings, and many other forms of violence against women and girls are widespread, the global civil societies, human rights defenders, peace activists, women’s right activist and feminists embarked on the 16 Days of Global Activism Against Gender Violence>>>

"زن ها فقط یه بدن اند"؟

اون زمونا که ما یه الف بچه بودیم و کله مون مثلن بوی قورمه سبزی می داد، به آمریکایا فحش می دادیم که نژادپرست اند، سیاها را قبول ندارن و اینا. یه روز یه آدم بیکار، پرسید؛ حاضری آبجی ت زن یه سیاه بشه؟ خب، راستیاتش فکرشو نکرده بودیم. آبجی مونا دوست داشتیم! چطوری می شد بدیمش دست یه سیاه؟ حالام نقل ما جماعته، حرف که مالیات نداره، آدما می زنن. یعنی بس به حرف، حالا خیلیا یه پا "فمینیست" شده اند! ولی خب، از یه طرفم اگه شومام که یه خانوم حسابی هستی، قبول کنی که این "بدن" کله روش نیست، دیگه حَرَجی به آقایون نیست، هست؟ یعنی شوما میگی آقایون باید فکرشون را عوض کنند؟ خب اونا که نزائیده اند، نسابیده اند، نشُسته اند، نروفته اند، خیلی که حالیشون باشه و بخوان طرف ما را بگیرن، یه چیزای می نویسند مث "آزاده خانوم ..." با چه میدونم دکتر چی چی... یه روضه آبگوشتی با ادویه ی روشنفکرانه! خداوکیلی باس قبول کرد که یه چیکه شم تقصیر خودمونه، قبول نداری؟>>>

شاپرکم برگشته!

شاپرک تازه از ایران برگشته و تلفن زده تا خبر بازگشتش را بدهد. صدایش که مثل صدای زندگیست شادم کرد. پرسیدم: چه خبر؟.... باز از گرانی گفت و این که همه اش توی خانه بوده و در گرما جایی نمی رفته و آهان! که در اولین روز ورودش به ایران، توسط گشت توقیف شده!....
پرسیدم: چی؟ آخه واسه چی؟....
- به جرم بدحجابی دیگه!....
- مگه حجاب نداشتی؟....
- چرا! ولی ما فرق داریم!....
- یعنی چی؟....
