The Islamic republic got the power only during and after Iran-Iraq war. Before the war Iran had various liberal parties. The war was considered as an unfair imposition by west. Just like this would be they feign they are under threat yet Israel has 500 nuclear bombs. Sophisticated submarines in Persian gulf + America has 3 death carriers in the Persian gulf. It would be an absurd war, one sided but the population will side with the government.

I got the impression that this iranian gentelman is saying to americans to leave iranians to live their life as Iranians are a happy nation living the way they are!
This is a very typical argument of an iranian who is opposed to toppeling islamic republic and think the fanatics in Tehran will one day become all of a sudden democratic and everything will become all right. Peolpe like him can dream on!

We all have to stand up and speak

Afarin.  As a native of our beloved Iran, it is not only my duty, but it is yours as well to stand up and express the same words to whoever that lends his or her ears.  Let the world hear that invading Iran is not to America's favor.  We Iranians are of many belives, cultures and backgrounds.  We might not get along with one another, but when it comes to invading our motherland, we will unite like no other group.  We will become Rostam's Irani and defeat the enemy.
