Interesting...

Iranian women who have migrated have sooooo often become chosen as Miss, UK, Canada, and elsewhere. I think they are on top of all migrant communities, compared to their numbers!

If the ladies are good looking enough, let them all be Persians!

by Cy (not verified) on

All those places mentioned in John Carpenter’s post, were at one time a Persian Satrap or a province. Our empire was vast and inclusive. Places like Tajikistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Dagestan were snatched away from Persia by the evil Russian Czars. Not to mention that they have not been an independent Country long enough to take down their USSR insignia yet. If those ladies find affection to the culture of mother Persia, we won't object to that. Welcome back home Ladies! As for the name of Persian Gulf becoming anything else, I warn everybody not to even go there. Furthermore, In Persia God's name is Ahora-Mazda and not Allah. Arabs can have the Allah.

Tajik is a common Iranian

by Rostam-e-Dastan (not verified) on

Tajik is a common Iranian last name. So I don't see why she could not be Iranian. Regardless, even if she is Afghan or Tajik, Iranians are still proud of her. Afghans and Tajiks are like our brothers and sisters.

Is Ms. Tajik really Iranian?

by John Carpenter III (not verified) on

The article writes she was born in Iran. Is Ms. Tajik really Iranian?

Her parents may have immigrated from Afghanistan or Tajikistan to Iran.

Sarah Shahi is Iranian, no doubt.

There are a lot of 1/2 Iranian models.

It would be great if Iranian media and the Iranian internet sites would research how much Iranian the modles are.

In southern California (L.A.), for example, a lot of people use the term "Persian" loosely. Even Afghans and Iraqis in L.A. refer to themselves as Persian.

In the New York City area, Pakistanis and Indians refer to themselves as "Persians".

This error should stop.

It is my firm belief that the term "Iranian" should be used instead of "Persian".

The word "Persia" and "Persian" is a western word for the "Fars" and "Farsi" word in the Persian language.

Iran was always called "Iran" in the Farsi language.

I even believe that we should rename the "Persian Gulf", the "Iranian Gulf".

It will always be the "Iranian Gulf". Because ALLAH loves it that way.

As far as Ms. Tajik is concerned, I wish to know if she is a real Iranian.

And why not?

Hajiagha berim khastegaree?!

by Anonymouse on

Hajiagha one word and we'll go to khastegaree her for you! Yes or no?

All you have to say is "yes" and we'll send an Army to khastegaree!~

So what do you say?  I don't see anything wrong with her, do you?

She looks good and would be a good match.  Come on don't be picky.  You said you wanted small nose, what else do you want?!

She is both Miss Canada and Miss Universe.  She can't be Miss America because Miss Universe is run by Donald Trump who owns Miss USA, otherwise she would be Miss America too!

It would be nice we'll go to a wedding after all!
