Rasoul

High achiever

With the recent events surrounding the FBI raid on the Portland, Oregon offices of Iranian-American Child Foundation, it was with relief that I read the press release from the Foundation that it is fully functional, no one has been arrested and it is cooperating fully with an investigation by the federal authorities, although the subject of said investigation still remains unclear since FBI and US Attorney General 's office has not made any comments.  My hope is that the investigation is quickly done and that a public statement can be made by the federal authorities once and for all putting away any concerns why they seized the computers of the Foundation on July 15.  Otherwise, I am afraid it will have a chilling effect on the donations that we would all hope to make to further this very worthy cause.  For all these reasons, my new Iranian of the Day is Rasoul, one of the children waiting to be sponsored through the Child Foundation, and who is one of the featured children for the month of July. Rasoul lives in the city of Eslamabad Gharb in western Iran. He is seven years of age and has a GPA of 20 out of a possible score of 20. Rasoul's life has not been easy. His father recently passed away leaving only his mother to take care of him. He is a high achiever with the ability to succeed in school, but he desperately needs our help. Sponsor him

I am so proud of this child. I wish I could sponsor him but all the hoopla around child foundation makes me nervous and somewhat distrustful.
