Parvin Ardalan

Stopped from traveling to receive human rights prize

Interntational Solidarity Network with Iranian Women's Movement: In the early hours of Monday morning, March third, Parvin Ardalan, feminist journalist and well known activist of the “Campaign for One million Signatures against Discriminatory Laws against Women,” who was leaving for Stockholm to receive the Olof Palme prize, was forced by Iranian authorities to leave the Air France plane she was on. By confiscating her passport and giving it to the General Passport Office the Iranian authorities are trying to prevent her from participating in the prize giving ceremony. The purpose of this is only to restrict and silence the activists of social rights in Iran. It is aimed at covering the face of women like Parvin Ardalan, so that their call for justice cannot effectively echo in the world. We turn to all human rights institutions and organisations in support of women’s liberation and equality to do all they can to make it possible for Parvin Ardalan to travel to Sweden and attend the prize giving ceremony on March 6 >>>iran-women-solidarity.net

Well all I can say is shame on those who stopped her from traveling to receive her human rights prize. This itself represents a violation of human rights. What they have done makes them look even worse in the international media. Most of us didn't even know that Parvin had won such a title. Now most people know about it & worse they know that she has now been personally subject to violation of human rights.

Today's world is like a small village, stopping someone from leaving a country doesn't work as well as it did many years ago. World news spreads at the speed of light....

is there any other country in the world, where running to enemies and defaming one's own Homeland counts as social right?
Such actions as giving Preises are the sign of interventioning in other countries internal affairs. The citizen who plays this game works together with the enemies. The honourable iranian nation, who has founded its ISLAMIC REPUBLIC 1978 and is living there, is apparently against such anti-iranian-games and does what seems appropriate to prevent them. thats it. Greeting
