Sad
by Shirin 345 (not verified) on Mon May 12, 2008 11:19 AM CDTIt just feels like the same old jokes, but delivered poorly. Even Maz Jobrani is getting old. Has Omid Djalili been featured, yet? He should be, obviously. And there's this new guy named Pardis Parker who's not bad - http://youtube.com/watch?v=h2tMmwSSGIo
It's tough, though, because I don't think we want to encourage bad comedy, and I think we're doing just that by giving this Kharazzi guy so much attention when he's not fully matured as a performer. He might one day, and we all hope he does, but he's not there, yet.
He's not bad
by Avaz (not verified) on Mon May 12, 2008 10:24 AM CDTI thought he was funny. He's new so he'll get better and better but I found it funny.
He is doing well
by Ben (not verified) on Sat May 10, 2008 04:59 AM CDTHe is trying to create his own style, his own funny character. It's gonna take some time to suit in that well. His jokes were funny; the only thing that made it less funny was that he didn't look funny. I mean if he didn't speak, I would have thought of him as some PhD student. He has to choose good attire and maybe a different haircut. The way that a comedian talk, tone of voice, mimics, dressing, etc all should fit together. I think he is talented and can come up with good jokes. Just needs to correct his outlook. And you'll find him very very funny.
People actually pay to see
by Aviva on Sat May 10, 2008 01:25 AM CDTPeople actually pay to see this ?!
Pathetic, not funny at all and very obscene, and there is nothing
antisemic in my words, as I am myself an Iranian Jewish - Israeli
citizen !
It's a start!
by Concerned Iranian (not verified) on Fri May 09, 2008 10:12 PM CDTWell, it is not about being Jewish or Moslem. This young man is simply not very talented. But this is a good start nonetheless. We should have more comedians of all persuasions, Jewish, Moslem, Bahai, Armenian, Zorostrian, and the like. This young man needs to know that perhaps he will do well if somebody else wrote his jokes. He also needs to work on a lot of other areas of his performance. I hope he does have a day job.
Marvin Kharrazi
by Party Girl on Fri May 09, 2008 06:09 PM CDTHello All:
I think Marvin Kharrazi is very funny, with a great deal of potential. He is young, intelligent, good looking, and still growing in his profession. We should probably check him out again in a few years to notice the changes. Already, I find him very refreshing, because he is breaking a few major taboos with his Jewish community for his career choice and the content he uses, albeit affectionately. If you watch all the 8 links which comprise his stand-up show, you will see that he has a lot of funny content and he pulls most of them off really well, making you laugh. It takes time for stage performers to settle and appear polished, as though what they are doing is effortless. I think we should recognize young performers, go see their shows whenever we can, and continue to encourage them to grow and to get better. In time, our large community will have hundreds of artists in different areas and as audiences, we will reap the benefit of choice. So, please be supportive and provide constructive criticism if you can. That's what I think.

I do like Jewish Iranians very much. I have had many friends back home and also in USA that are Iranian Jewish. They are very proud of being Iranian, that is more that I can say about most other Iranian.
Lets be Persian and proud
