Iranian-American or just Iranian
by Iranian Reader on Wed Nov 12, 2008 11:19 AM PSTAW: I'd say the Iranian-American is a variety of the American whereas people like me are a variety of the Iranian.
In musical terms, Iranian-American is a variation on the theme of the American whereas those of us who are non-hyphenated are a variation on the theme of the Iranian, regardless of where we live.
That's Great!

Kiosk Rocks!
by American Wife on Wed Nov 12, 2008 10:39 AM PSTWe're hoping to see them again in OC this month. Last year was awesome and we're looking forward to hearing some new stuff from them.
Interesting comment Reader, what do you see as the difference between yourself and the "Iranian-Americans"? I don't want to start off on a tangent but I'm just curious about what you mean.
Thanks! :-)
peace out.
Congratulations!
by Iranian Reader on Wed Nov 12, 2008 09:06 AM PSTGood luck, guys. I wish you lots of success first and foremost on account of being musicians and lyricists.
As for being Iranian, I agree with Arash that one does not stop being Iranian when one lives outside the country. In fact -- and I don't know how much of a news this is to you! -- it is quite possible that you realize how Iranian you are, and what that means, the longer you live away from Iran. I myself have been living in the US for 34 years and have no idea what these hyphenated people -- "Iranian-Americans" -- talk about. All I know is that I kept on being who I was and years went by. That's all.
