I can't watch this

Iranian satellite TV stations

Oh VOMIT!

by Anonymous77 (not verified) on

Those 3 women at the beginning. It's those kind of conversations that make me sick. All that fakery - I can't stand those type of people, especially since those types regulary, as some form of hobby backstab each other at every opportunity.
Halam beham khord. Vaghto hosele daran baraye cherto pertashoon.

Better than nothing

by Anonymous Irani (not verified) on

These programs may be boring for Iranians living overseas, but is a blessing for Iranians living in Iran. They can watch old Iranian movies and programs which normally would not have been able to see. They also let Iranians know about the news that is not told in Iranian TV channels.Like someone said earlier if you do not like the programs do not watch them.

They are charand -o- parand. I know , but god bless them, they are the best thing for elderly!!! my mother and mother in law in their 80's sit and watch them for hours. if we did not have them , I had to listen to the story of my childhood 1000 times a day. I support them, and god bless them. but I myself never watch them , because every min of watching them kills 1000 neurons in the brain!!!!

Who watches this??

by Ali P. on

I was discussing the sweet topic of "900 #'s" a few years ago with a friend. I noticed pages and pages of "adult phone line" ads on the back of his- Yes, HIS- dirty magazine. I wondered, who calls these #'s??

Every man denies having ever called these #'s, and have some recording, or sometimes a live voice, talk dirty to him. How dumb is that?!

But, somebody was paying for those ads, and someone was getting rich on them, because SOMEBODY was calling those #'s.

The same goes for these Iranian tv shows: Everyone denies watching them, but SOMEBODY is! (You know who you are!)

:-)

(P.S. On a personal note, Cindee, if you are reading this, call me.It's been a while. It's me, Big Daddy ;-)

Don't like it ? Don't watch it !

by Mash_Ghasem (not verified) on

I rather light a candle than curse the darkness ! So why don't you start a TV channel and show the rest how it is done, eh ?
If you don't like it, don't watch it. It is a free country. Stop whining and bitching about how "Iranians" can't do anything ! Where are you, yourself, from genious ?

Alternatives to Iranian Satellite

by iranicanlive on

There are currently two awesome alternatives to Satellite TV:

Iranican and Bebin.tv

Iranican gives the Northern California Iranian-American perspective, and Bebin.tv focuses on the SoCal experience.

Iranican is all volunteers, passionate to create Iranian-American media that far surpasses anything the Satellites know how to do.

If you're passionate about creating a new venue for Iranian-American media, contact us: info@iranican.com

Are these people our leaders? We want to risk a war so that we can bring these guys to power? I am all excited! Not!

Suck doesn't even begin to describe it...

by eroonman on

Anyone with $10-20k per month can get a satellite channel to upload bad video programming these days. Equipment (especially used) is cheap. People in film are so desperate in LA to have a resume they will work for free (and most do!). The fact that they are on satellite is proof it is not real TV. Cable is real TV. Satellite is for wannabe posers, which these are our best and brightest examples of.

However do not despair, it's ony natural that given we are a relatively weak minority in the US, it is not surpising we would not have a proper TV presence.

Yes, I said weak! Because as numbers go, we are not that many, 800,000 in the US maybe? (the 2-4 mil number was successfully disputed 5 years ago) And even if you add in the dollars we have, it is still not significant in comparison to other minorities. Plus you actually need a market that consumes a product in a large enough scale for it to attract ads, so we cannot get any decent advertising (American ads because Iranians don't buy Iranian products even if we had any) budgets that could pay for the kind of programming you exepect from Tapesh.

So what you see is a hobby that merely pays for itself, usually in trade or chelo kabab tabs. For that kind of effort, given what they put into it money-wise it's actually pretty damn good.

FYI, the opening scene you have with the 2 plastic surgery-gone-wrong examples in the greeen screen and the library background, is the same picture they used from a calendar, from 7 years ago. if you watch carefully you will see the news anchor's clock on the wall behind him doesn't move. It's a picture also. Almost all of what you see is shot in a autobody warehouse with one wall painted green.

There is no actual studio.

quality programming

by MRX1 (not verified) on

costs tons of money. I doubt that any of these stations have a budget to put one decent program out there much less all of them producing high quality program all the time. By far the worst ones: are with shabkhiz (not sure which channel) and Rangarang!

they are simply us and no one else. They are a mirror of all of us, or else WE would have produced something better, right?
