Islamic An-Gholab of 1979!? He was the lead vocalist of the treasonous the "Chap" in Iran right until the 1979 chaos. He did what he was supposed to do, complain about the Shah's regime and once it fell, everything became honckey dorie!?

Farhad, He was great

by mike (not verified) on

I appreciated very much this production. It was great to know something about a great man.

we, iranians, have had a lot in our history but we need to talk about it and make it known to eveyone. similar work would be great step.

The west mostly dont realize that persians had a physician long time ago, phylasopher, a university much before anything similar in the west, or playing musical instruments started many centuries before in the rural areas of Iran and.....

Thanks

Orang Gholikhani

Not 1344 it is 1944

by Orang Gholikhani on

He said 1344 but it is written 1944 at the end and it should be more accurate. (1344 Iranian Clendar cannot match with his realisations).

I'd chance to attend to one his last (may be the last) concert in Paris. He was the greatest and didn't not be recognized as valuable as by Iranians!

We should do more for his memory.

salim

an insult

by salim on

I don't like to criticize, but we need to raise the bar on these sort of productions. Farhad was one of our top musicians and I'd hope he gets more of a tribute than this incomplete video. I hope the good folks at bebin TV continue their work, but push the envelope a bit higher. A bit more research could have helped here.

Also the domain name is not pointing to a real site.

We miss him!

by Concerned Iranian (not verified) on

He was a great artist who did what he thought was right at the time. He was not religious, so to those who think he got what he desreved, I say:: He contributed much much more than you and I ever have or will to the Iranian culture. So cherish him and remember him as the one who made a difference.

Funny, the note presenting

by Anonymous on

Funny, the note presenting the video says: "he spent many years as a prisoner in the 70s". I don't think it could have been "many" years given that he was quite active. How come you dont' write about the "miserable" years he had to live in the akhundi years of the 80s and 90s? In a way I'm happy he got a taste for what akhunds are like. He died in terrible shape in exile. Thats what he got for singing about shahids and alah-o akbar.

Parham

In my opinion

by Parham on

... not well made. From the voice of the narrator to the "sambal-kari" of the story line to the scarceness of information about the life of Farhad...
The only interesting part was his picture alongside Adamo at Cuccini, which is a rare picture.
