And when intenrational businessmen in Iran want action, they also go to a house of strength -- Iranians' Bank -- a Citibank affiliate. by Iran doost (not verified) on

We all need to know our history but not live in the past...
Instead of name calling think of ways to help IRAN... being Iranian doesn't mean backing the Shah/Royalry or the new regime... If we care about our lnd we must stay positive and help it ... Shah should have done more and the new regime is so corrupt that they make tha last one look good... Long Live Iran and itys beautiful people...

Citibank was still left behind after the late Shah departed

by Hanna (not verified) on

The question to ask is what was left in the vaults of these banks when the late Shah departed?

All of the thieves who had borrowed money from Iranian banks in the name of using the capital for infrastructure investments in Iran sent the money to their bank accounts abroad.

Not only did they not use the moeny for infrastructure development, they stole the money and shipped it out of the country causing bankruptcy and closure of many banks in Iran. These were the wonderful people who were the sweet friends, buddies, ministers, "supposed businessmen", head of banks, and family members during the reign of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

The data is available at the IMF and the World Bank.

Shame on you all Shahis!

by Ashamed (not verified) on

I wonder why these Shah parasts always have to resort to bad mouthing and call others by their own mothers' maiden names. Is it because they have no tolerance, no logic, and no manner? Perhaps their mouths are stinky because of years of kissing "His-Imperial-Majesty"'s behind. If these people are a sample of what is left from good old royal days, imagine what kind of civilization we had! Unfortunately, the true decent Iranians cannot bring themselves down to such a low level to give them a dose of their own medicine, especially in a site that is open to the whole world.
So, please miserable shah parasts go ahead and show your nature and that of your "civilization" to the world!

by Azadi (not verified) on

What is wrong with all of you monarchist (Shah-Parast) people? Why you guys always use bad words and constantly badmouthing others, just for saying their opinion? No wonder you guys did not stay on the power, you have not learned a bit of democracy after living almost 30 years in democratic countries!!

by Khashmgin (not verified) on

We did NOT have proverty under the shah asshole. We had taghzieh raayegan for all school age children even in the villages, SIX DAYS A WEEK. And I remember Hossien agha, who was a jooshkaare karkhooneh and husband of the kolfat in our neighbor's house wanted to go visit Europe with his child and wife.
.
Poverty? Fuck you.
.
Savak? We needed Savak to keep assholes like from destroying our country. The only crime Savak committed was to be too linient towards Islamist and leftist assholes.
.
Those days WERE rosy days for regular people. Hey asshole wake up.

SepAs Darius-jAn,

True Iranians will be eternally grateful to the Pahlavi King's who built this nation from the ashes that was left of it after the incompetent Qajar's. Rest assured that real Iranian like Reza Shah will rise again to do what their predecessors have done in the past.

Guys don't worry about the leftover leftist and islamist parasites who will never be content until they've completely destroyed Iran.

Too bad the late Shah was too merciful against these filth of society who in 1979 bit the hand of the hand that was feeding them. I hope these motherless scum pay for their treachery someday.

Bedaaneem, Beandeesheem, Bepaakheezeem!
Beedari, Paaydari, Peeroozi!

Nice picture, BUT!

by Shahram (not verified) on

Nice looking picture but the very same people and the Citi bank at the same time were milking our country.
David Rockfeller with the help of his so called friend "Shah" were rubbing Iran. So, my friends this picture is not as pretty as it looks.

part of the blame should be on us than anybody else. LET'S NOT BE SO NAIVE IN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH PEOPLE FROM OTHER LANDS!!!

As Long As We Admit We Made Things Worse

by Mehdi on

I guess it is hard on our pride to admit what a mistake it was to destroy what was there. So we have to justify it by saying it was bad. I find it funny how some people see blackness and negativity in everything. Anything was a proof that we were slave. This is paranoia.

Please don't forget ...

by Chase Manhattan (not verified) on

that behind all these luxuries for a few, we also had poverty for millions, political repression, SAVAK, Evin, torture, etc. So those days were not that rosy and not much better than today as far as regular people (those who didn't lose and didn't gain much) are concerned. Otherwise, our dear Shahanshah or his heir was still in power.

Where Do You Find These Things?

by Kaveh Nouraee on

Darius,

Have you thought of publishing a book with all of these treasures? These things you have posted have managed to take me back to a better time, even if only for a moment. 1971 was the last time I was back home, and most of my memories have faded. Thank you again.

Age of sanity

by Anon (not verified) on

Thank you for the post!

It is nice to remember the good old days! We are sick to our stomachs from watching mullah thugs mandating imprisonment, public hangings and stonings!

We are sick of lying theives who have taken Iran hostage for almost 30 years.

We want our peaceful Iran back!

It was this kind of baseless rambling that helped get us into trouble in 1979.

Javid Shah!

by AnonymousBabak (not verified) on

Ah, those were the days: our American owners let us shine their shoes. The eyes of the ajnabi-parasts, Savakis, followers of Ashraf Pahlavi, and Darius Kadivar are full of tears for the golden era of Shahanshah Aryamehr Mohammad-Reza Pahlavi. If you like, there are still plenty of U.S. puppet states that you can visit: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Guatemala. Even though the U.S. "lost" Iran, it still owns those countries and they still have Citibank branches. And life in those countries is 10 times worse than it is in Iran now.
