Ignore the IC asylum inmates and their accusations. They do this to everyone who even slightly disagrees with them.

Apologist for IRI ? Well I

by nojanthegreat on

Apologist for IRI ? Well I think this is becoming a bit personal . Name calling is a immature act and when it carry a bulling massage ,it become sad and stupid . You can call me what ever your maturity calls for . The facts are here .we are talking about closure of Canadian embassy , not 2009 election. If you want to bring specific legal cases you need to provide use with all evidence and facts of the case. I don’t even think you have any of them with you or you even know who this lady that you mention here name really is . 2009 election fraud or not is behind us .,just like 2000 election in us when bush became president of USA . What happened after that is open for discussions and dialogue of opinions. Remember that there are always tree side to the story : yours , theirs and truth. I was not in Iran during the election of 2009. What I gathered from what I see in TV or online was not black and white. I live in united state . I am familiar with American laws regarding public safety . I know that if what happened in Iran would have been in some where like new York city or los angles , much more people would lost their life. No matter what you believe in regard to the election what happened next was a serious of illegal activity by any international standard . We can not just bring up names like Neda Aga sultan (I am so sorry if the name is misspelled or its different from the actual name ) or taraneh musavi or even kahrizak and do not mention what had happened in Tehran and what was going to happened if it was going to be unchallenged. We all see the bloody images of people in Tehran streets . People who have been shot or injured any other way. Did you had a flash back to 1970s Tehran ? Same event was happening . People getting sot or being chase by security forces . Those people won the fight ,didn’t they ? What happened next ? Well let me remind us that days after that Iranian generals from army ,air force and navy and national guard were killed by firing squad . Years after that thousand of Iranian got killed in domestic power grab fights between involved parties . Nothing good come out of revolutions and violent movement , this was true 40 years ago and its true now. I believe in public safety , stability and security both physical and emotional , if that make me IRI apologist let that be it. I simply can not support a movement that do not have a leader , headquarter and public organization . A movement that do not know where it goes and what it really want and who it is, no matter what color it is . Riot, street fight ,and arm struggles are not what I believe in or think that it will deliver any result. We need to learn again to be civilized . We need to respect each other and know our boundaries . We don’t need to blow up building and attack military barracked or governmental building to achieve that . It take a personal declaration . It need sense of responsibly to our families , towns and country . I care for Neda and Taraneh as much as you do , but I believe there are also victim of the unrest in recent years. I can return the time and hope that on those days this girls stay home ,but what I can do is safe more life like those of theirs. I can try to stop the sanction so drugs can be sold to Iran , so people who are suffering from illness be able to afford them again. I can try to stop the sanction so civil air plans part can be send to Iran so there be no more plane crashes in Iran . We can stop those. With sanction left , more money will be invested in Iran and those poor Iranian who you mentioned will be able to have jobs and money to spend . In the end please stop this talks about money ,oil money ,or Swiss bank with me. We Iranian have been saying this BS all the time . We were saying that his majesty shahan shah aryamehr ,has stolen money from Iran and put it in Swiss banks. Now we know that he carried under 100000000 $ with him. Same goes with today government . There is no doubt in my mind that corruption is a major problem in Iran . Any government employee will accept bribe . From top to bottom . Its not ahmadinejad or Khomeini , its everyday Iranian. Teachers , government employees , cops and many more are accepting bribe. It in our culture . We can curve it if we decide to . I don’t see that anytime soon . I don’t know if you know that in Iran no one pay taxes . Government services is paid by oil money . From subsidies , to education system , to military ,to cops , to judges, to city employees and …………… that’s where the money goes. When you go to Iranian university and become engineer or doctor and it cost you under 30000 $ and you come here and start to work and your counter part here had paid 250000 to 400000$ for the same education and now he need to pay his loan back for next 20 years ,that’s were the money goes. In the end no matter what we think about Iranian government and our domestic politic , it is important for us to defend Iran’s interest in international societies. We need to push for stop of the new sanction so our fellow Iranians can live in better conditions . We need also to oppose the move by Canadian government . If Iran become isolated , it will be easier for USA or Israel to attack it and we all know what will happened the morning after .

Not only you're young, you're also an apologist of IR in here

by Zendanian on

The first time I read you here, was right after 2009 "elections."

That was when thousands of people were being arrested, jailed and tortured, when Kahrizak (the name of a jail) became a VERB in Persian language, when Taraneh Musavi was gang-raped and her body half burned so it won't be recognized (althoughTaraneh Musavi's case we know all about, there must be tens of those cases that we haven't heard).

And what was your 'observation' coming back to US after those 'elections': everything if fine and dandy, not a thing to worry about.

More or less that exactly what you're doing in here, AGAIN.

If you read any account of social life in Iran: individual, collective, Urban, Country side, there has been a total decline in all aspects.

At the end of the day, even professional apologists like you can't get away with a simple equation and query.

The administration in power for the last eight year has presided over  the richest period of Iranian history. They have earned more Oil monies than nay other administration or government before them.

Yet according to IR's own Center for Statestics 35 million Iranians (that's almost half the population of the country) lives in absolute or 'relative' poverty.

What has happened with all those monies?

They were stolen and put into foreign bank accounts.

Yet another reason why ALL IR EMBASSIES SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN, WORLD WIDE. To stop the theft of Iranian people's monies.

I may be young I maybe be

by nojanthegreat on

I may be young I maybe be young ( born 1985) and did not remember 1980s at all , but there is some lessons to be learn from 1980s or better from our last century history . There are close to 50 million American living in absolute poverty. Around same numbers are starving on daily bases. In recent years many American families lost their houses to banks. Jobs are even scarier to think about. Minimum way is a joke and on other hand CEOs and upper class income has risen without any end. But do we experience revolution here or civil war? Do we hear people in the country that respect second amendment, pick a gun and fight the government? No we don’t, because revolutions are for immature nations. We all love to be che guvara and fight the MAN and talk about our love for liberty and things like that.                We are hearing discussions about poverty in Iran. We are hearing a lot about politics and lack of liberties in Iran. We talk about our young adult future being unclear. We talk about lack of management in Iran’s government which has led to some of our economic problems, but are we truly honest with ourselves?                 We all know that life of majority of Iranian have been improving rapidly in past 10, 15 years. I just recently went back home and saw a different country in front of me. Moral standard are much lower than when I left in 2002. Technology and lively hood have improved as well. Great majority of Iranian have internet, satellite TV networks, modern car, better appealence in their houses and well the fashion is way past our American life. Iranian is shopping everyday goods and shops are full of buyers. For some of us that live here I need to remind us that Iranian buy merchandise with cash and not plastic. Every years thousands of foreign made cars ( German made or Korean ) are being purchased in Iran with cash, do you know any neighbors of yours who can go to the auto malls and pay somewhere from 250000-700000 in cash ? I know some of us live in fancy neighbor hoods, but that not something that happens everyday here. Iranian real estate is another interesting market. Cheapest apartment in Tehran and major cities cost around 300000 and up, and yes people buy these houses with cash. Iranian bank account is also very rich as well. Banks in Iran give interest rates that are not even comparable with us banks and you do not need to pay taxes .taxes are very good subject to talk about as well. Iranian doesn’t pay any property tax that I know about. Sale tax is also unheard of as well. So if people don’t pay taxes how government needs to provide services that are needed?

Inconvenience caused by IR's embassy closures are way smaller

by Zendanian on

and almost minuscule compared to the sacrifices and problems we went through, and had to face in 1979. Nojoan is probably too young to recall, he probably wasn't born then, but in 1979 people had to go through a lot more hardship with all those strikes going on in middle of Winter, and no oil. Army still shooting at you at times, Martial Law,...This embassy closure is nothing, in comparison.

Some could even argue that the political/diplomatic isolation brought about by closure of all IR spy nets, which also means effectively halting some of their spying and assasination projects, are all worth the trouble and short term difficulty, and shall be treated as such. The sooner we overthrow IR, the sooner we'll have none of these problems. Or these other problems in Iran, like:

- 10,000,000 (that's ten millions) Iranian  living in Absolute Poverty Levels.

- 25,000,000( that's twenty five millions) other Iranians live in "relative" poverty line.

- 1,200,000 Tomans is the official poverty line for Tehran, official minnimum wage 330,000 Tomans.

- $1= 2600 Tomans

- Out of a population of 77 millions, you have thirty five millions living in poverty. Tis by the way is the product of one of the richest administration in Iranian history ever. Just calculate the rise in Oil prices of the past eight years, that increase in prices could be a relatively accurate index of rise in revenue. Still half the population of country in poverty. This must a true miracle of Islam.

....

When there's a revolution against a government, we ought to be viligant and prepared for inconveniences, problems and sacrifices.

Dear Mses Farhangi and Rebecca; and Messrs Mehrdad, Ghafouri, Gilani, and dear AI, thanks for your solidarity. This thing hasn't even begun yet.

FA: Bug off, please.

Last but not least, here's a great song by the late Joe Strummer. A line in there always kind of haunts me:

Ok smart people Who uses

by nojanthegreat on

Ok smart people

Who uses Canadian embassies in Iran ? People or government ? If you support this shameful act of aggression toward Iran, would you answer to the hundreds of Iranian who used to go to Canadian embassy daily to obtain tourist visas or student or immigration visas ? What they should do now ? Let see the options now they have to go to turkey or UAE . There have been a plan being cooked to attack Iran or do damage to her , and this is how we response ? Do they close Pakistan or saurian embassies as well ? With Iranian like you who needs enemy ?

Wake up and don’t let your hatred for IRI blind you like this , learn from other minorities or countries and stand by your fellow Iranian , not by making their life more miserable .

IRI official would not lose anything if embassies get close . People are the only one who will suffer .

How long it going to take us to act wise and become useful for our society here and inside Iran ?

Agreed

It is time to support the Iranian people in their struggle against the brutal regime of mollahs. Closing IR's nest of spies will be a symbolic move in support of the Iranian people. It may not bring the regime down but it will send them a message that people of the world are behind the Iranian nation.

Shut these nests of islamist terrorists and Spies. send them back to Iran, so Iranian people would exercise their undeniable right to put them all on trial and execute the verdict quickly when the time is right.

Closing all IR spy nests an idea who's time has come

That point in history of our country has arrived to rally all Iranian people behind a democratic, participatory overthrowing of Islamic Republic of Hell.

Down with Islamic Republic of Iran.

Long live a free, and just Iran.

Such move will have the support of Iranian people...

by Bavafa on

Only if it is in support of Iranian people and for their aspiration for freedom and democracy.  So, do it for the right reason and for the systematic human rights violation in Iran and not for some manufactured reason by the special group and in support of the Zionist regime.

Closure of embassies can be counterproductive. It's also very troublesome for some fellow-citizens( with, or without wink wink )................lowering the diplomatic relations, however, sounds more diplomatic, purposeful, and effective.............No regime has ever fallen due to its closed embassies.........the "Red Phone" was still plugged in, their embassy fully staffed, when the Soviets fell...........
