An Iranian man faces six months in prison after he was found guilty of endangering passenger safety on two separate Emirates flights.

In March this year, according to reports, he told an attendant on a flight to Manila that he planned to hijack the plane.

After being arrested for that incident, public prosecution re-opened a case from 2009, in which he claimed to be in possession of a bazooka while on a Dubai-bound flight.

In that incident, the man was alleged to have insulted and assaulted a male steward.

The defendant blamed the incidents on medication that affected his behaviour.
