EL PASO- You've probably seen the eyebrow threader stands at Sunland park or Cielo Vista mall.
Already popular in the eastern world, eyebrow threading has been catching on in the United States and El Paso.

A woman who helped bring this practice to the Sun City is enjoying success with a skill she's known her whole life.

For the past 11 years Pouran Javaher has been shaping and sculpting eyebrows in the Borderland with a technique called eyebrow threading. Javaher uses a rolled-up cotton thread to pluck eyebrow hairs at the follicle. The whole process takes her between 10 and 15 minutes.

“I'm not doing it just with the thread. I shape it with the tweezers too. I cut it. I shape it,” says Javaher.

Javaher works at Salone Trevizzo on the East side of El Paso. She was one of the first to bring this ancient practice to the area.
