'Ten UN workers killed' at Afghan Koran protest

Ten foreign UN workers were killed on Friday in an attack on the UN headquarters in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif by demonstrators protesting at the burning of the Koran by a US pastor, police told AFP.

"Ten (UN) people have been killed by the protesters (...) All the killed are foreigners," police spokesman Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai said.

according to CNN, there were 12 dead, 7 of them UN workers including security staff, and 5 others were part of the attackers.
