Islamic group doctors video, slams city rep

Some 500 protestors gathered recently at Villa Park City Hall in Orange County, California, to show their support, and in some cases, their distaste, for a councilwoman who in February spoke out against a fundraiser hosted by a radical Muslim group.

 

During a fundraising event for the Islamic Circle of North America in Yorba Linda last month, Councilwoman Deborah Pauly remarked that terrorists in the Middle East display "pure, unadulterated evil" -- for which the councilwoman received threats of violence against her, and condemnation from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Steve Amundson of the Florida Security Council tells OneNewsNow that Pauly's speech was directed at two Muslim speakers who appeared at a fundraiser the previous month and who have endorsed terrorism in the past. "She wasn't calling Muslims in general terrorists, or spewing any hate towards Muslims in general," says Amundson.

Pauly's comments generated a popular Youtube video by CAIR, which was entitled "Hate Comes to Orange County."Amundson contends that the protesting group portrayed on the video was not even a part of the protest at the fundraiser last month.
