Saudi Arabia on Sunday said it stands ready "with all its capabilities" to shore up Bahrain's ruling royal family if a standoff with the Shiite-led opposition is not resolved soon, underscoring the kingdom's deep concern about its neighbor's ongoing political crisis.
Sunni-led Saudi Arabia props up Bahrain's al-Khalifa family with cash and has long sought to prevent the tiny Persian Gulf state - with its majority Shiite population - from falling into Iran's orbit. With dwindling oil resources, Bahrain relies heavily on Saudi Arabia for money and security.
It was unclear whether the Saudi comments indicated that the country was contemplating possible action in Bahrain or were merely meant to express growing anxiety among Saudi leaders. But some regional experts have long warned that a concerted Shiite challenge to the monarchy in Bahrain might prompt intervention from Saudi Arabia, which has its own restive Shiite minority population. The two countries are connected by a causeway.
The Saudi comments came as an uneasy calm prevailed in Bahrain's capital Sunday. Protesters pitched tents and held a peaceful demonstration at a central square as opposition leaders continued to rebuff the crown prince's invitation to engage in dialogue. >>>

SAUDI ROYAL FAMILY MUST WORRY ABOUT THEIR OWN FATE FIRST
by zuruz on Sun Feb 20, 2011 09:36 PM PSTSaudi dictator and his royal family must worry about their own fate and future first before worry about their close relative Bahraini dictator king Khalifa. Saudi royal family may bribe the whole world to stay in power, but they are underestimating the power of their angry, poor and oppressed population. These ruthless Bin Saud family with 6000 a$$hole princes who are taking the wealth of nation and poor Arabs from OIL& GAS and MECCA profits and deposit all the $$$ in their personal bank accounts worldwide as well as investing it in too many paradises, vacation’s resorts, publications, news media, foreign companies, enterprises, factories, casinos, gambling palaces, clubs, discos, sport leagues and even gay bars mostly in western countries. They are running the worst brutal dictatorship ever in the whole globe with no kind of freedoms and democracy. The king and his royal family never showed any respect for human rights, religions rights, women rights and other democratic issues at all. Slavery of mostly blacks and abusing, raping of foreign/ domestic slaves and servants and their families have been going on big time high even if we live in 21st century now and there is no sign of improvements within this regime at all. The king and royal family invest billions in terrorists’ activities murdering many of their opponents and dissidents and destabilizing many nations around the world to dominate Wahabi style of Islam worldwide. As the free world watches due to need for OIL no nation or even United Nations really ever cared to find a solution and save humanity in this nation. Tons of gold and diamonds are not going to save this corrupt and cruel kingdom family. Soon we will see the population uprising will send these blood sucker monsters to the dumpster of history. After political death of Bin Ali and Mubarak the oppressive regime of Saudi king and his princes will follow the same road to hell.
