Iran steps up South Pars gas output

TEHRAN
-- Around 40% of Iran’s gas consumption this winter will be provided by
the Assaluyeh processing terminals handling of production from the South
Pars gas/condensate field in the Persian Gulf.


South Pars Gas
Complex Co.’s Ali Shabanpour said that between June 22 and July 22, sour
gas extraction from the field had increased to 6.2 bcm (219 bcf), with
over 4.7 bcm (166 bcf) of gas being sweetened and injected into Iran’s
domestic pipeline network.

In an interview with Iranian news
service Shana, he added that an overhaul was under way of the facilities
for South Pars phases 1-3, and that overhauls of phases 4-10 had been
completed.

During the same June-July period, the company also exported 6 MMbbl of gas liquids from the field’s 10 operating phases.
