DAMASCUS - Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has presented eleven proposals to help break the blockade of Gaza at a meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Member States (PUOICM).

Larijani announced the proposals in a speech at the PUOICM meeting in Damascus on Wednesday.

The Iranian parliament speaker praised Syria for its efforts to host the PUOICM meeting and said that the meeting sends the message that the Muslim world is very concerned about the aggressive policies of the Zionist regime.

Larijani stated that Islamic countries should not content themselves with only issuing statements condemning Israel and proposed eleven practical steps to help break the three-year blockade of Gaza.

Larijani said the United Nations General Assembly Third Committee has investigated the report of the UN Fact-Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict, known as the Richard Goldstone report, and urged the UN Human Rights Council to announce its views on the Israeli atrocities as soon as possible.
