Mossad agent allegedly involved in Hamas killing now to be extradited to Germany

Alleged Mossad agent,
identified at this time as Uri Brodsky, was arrested on Saturday upon
his arrival in Poland. The Polish prosecutor has now decided to proceed
with extradition to Germany, contrary to Israel’s wishes.

Brodsky, an Israeli, is suspected of working for Mossad in Germany. Of
particular concern are his activities relating to the issuance of a fake
passport. Brodsky allegedly secured the passport, and was involved in
other logistical efforts, as part of the assassination of the major
Hamas figure, Mahmoul al-Mabhouh, in Dubai in January of this year.

 

This is the first time since the assassination that more than diplomatic
measures have been pursued against presumed participants in the
killing.

 

A German arrest warrant was issued for him, leaving no choice but to
arrest him, according to the Polish prosecutor.  The prosecutor will ask
the court in Warsaw to extradite Brodsky to Germany, according to
Poland’s PAP news agency.

 

According to a spokesman for the Warsaw District Court, the Polish court
will rule on the matter in 30 days. 

 

If he is extradited, it is believed that he will face charges of
espionage, forging documents and belonging to a foreign intelligence
