TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Army test-fired four hi-tech missiles during
the massive naval wargames in the Strait of Hormuz and northern Indian
Ocean, a senior Army commander announced on Monday.
These
(home-made) missiles are called Fajr 5 and belong to the Fajr-class
missiles and have not been tested in any wargames before. They were
tested for the first time in Vellayat 89 exercise zone," Lieutenant
Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Force General Kioumars Heidari
told reporters.

"That was a successful experience for us as we
could test and assess (the performance of ) the missiles in real
exercises for the first time," Heidari noted.

The commander
added that all the four missiles hit the targets with a record high
precision.

The Iranian Army started the six-staged wargames last
Wednesday. The exercises will last for 8 days.

Earlier today,
Iranian Army commandoes and special forces successfully destroyed air
targets with home-made shoulder-launched missiles named 'Misaq'.

The
Iranian Air Force also tested a series of newly updated air-to-surface
missiles on the sixth day of the exercises today.
