SAN'A, Yemen (AP) -- Yemeni coast guards have seized a boat they say illegally entered the country's territorial waters and arrested five Iranians on board, the Interior Ministry said Wednesday.Local media have reported the boat captured on Monday was Iranian and suspected of smuggling arms to Shiite rebels battling government troops in Yemen's northern Saada province.But the ministry statement only said the boat was intercepted after illegally entering Yemeni territorial waters off the western coast. It was escorted to a naval base on a nearby island and the sailors who were on board - five Iranians and one Indian - were being questioned, the statement saidIran's state media denied an Iranian boat had been seized in Yemen.Yemen has been embroiled in a sporadic five-year conflict with Saada's Shiite rebels, who accuse authorities of neglecting their needs and of allying with hard-line Sunni fundamentalists. Fighting has intensified since August, displacing tens of thousands of people and limited their access to humanitarian aid.Some Yemeni officials recently stepped up accusations that Iran and Shiite communities across the Mideast are supporting the Shiite rebels fighting the military in Saada, which borders Saudi Arabia. However, I disagree that there is a likelyhood of "governments supported" Sunni vs Shiite Religious War any time soon. Sunnis and shiites have been fighting each other in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., for the past several years, but those were not government sanctioned fights. As a matter of facts, the govenments in the rigion hate to see this kind of fights in their countries because they are destabilizing in nature. Having said that, it is a known fact that at different occasions these very governments have supported dissident groups of the others by covertly supplying them with arms to creat tensions.

Of course the pattern always follows with distractions to cover it up..
First,There was a story a few weeks ago I read of the Govt of Yemen accusing Iran of involvement in the Sunni vs Shia war there.I logged it here.

Then you know,a Jundallah Sunni suicide bomber blew up in Iran.
Ahmadine and the guard vow vengeance on America.
Then violence erupts across Iraq and Afghanistan.
Now the Yemen Govt again is finding Iranian's in Yemen.
I don't know,maybe not related but also,maybe so.. I hope it isn't so painstakingly hard to discuss it tho.
I think there may be something going on there that has nothing to do with the usual M.E. problems like the West,Isreal..
We'll see if the pattern continues.

I don't get you, I don't know what your motives are by posting a week old news, the news that says nothing except a boat was captured off the international waters. Would you care to clarify?

What do you think a worse or better leader will do for the situation? And what type of leader would you prefer?

by timothyfloyd on Tue Nov 03, 2009 11:58 AM PSTI'm putting this into my archives here because I believe there's more here than meets the eye.The article admits that Iran is out to censor information about this topic.And The Yemen War and the Sunni's keep coming up on Iran's radar.They wormed their way out of this one..Lucky for them this time and when they get caught in Yemen or Iraq,well I am not sure what will happen but their 'friends' in middle east and the world will know...... I think Religiously the Regime has decided that Shia is much better than Sunni when the Imman comes.And I think they're involved in the terrorist business...Now go ahead and call me 'zionist' jew' neocon,warmonger or whatever you like...

If Iran wanted to arm the rebels, there are so many other ways of doing it rather than such a clumsy operation in the daylight.
This news is simply another disinformatin much like the news where Israelis bombedIranian ship off of Suddan because it was carrying arms for Palestinians. Such misinformation, would over time, give the reader an impression of Iran as villain. This is typical of US and Israelis and does have a lot of precedence in post WWII history.
