Defeated Iranian presidential candidate Mehdi Karoubi said on Saturday that his country's security agents were "worse than Zionists" in mistreating its people in the wave of protests that followed last month's presidential election, as thousands protested the results of the election to a violent reaction by police and soldiers. "The behavior of Iran's security agents is worse than that of the Zionist (Israel) in the occupied Palestine," Karoubi wrote in a letter to Iranian Intelligence Minister Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei. "Can you put detainees under mental pressure in mosques, schools and in the basements of government offices?"

Protests against Iran took place in dozens of cities around the world Saturday highlight what protesters said was the abuse of human rights by Tehran. Iranian protesters dispersed several protests in Tehran on Saturday as well, as demonstrations against the government continued.

Irandokht jaan,

My comment wasn’t either!

My comment was towards those who call the Zionists “the worst in the world” and IRI “the best in the world”, in other words, defending IRI by bashing Israel.

they sacrificed Iran in the name of what they call “anti Zionism”. Well it turned out that IRI is worse than whom they call “Zionists” and even someone like Karoubi admits it. We’ve been saying that all along.

I don't think that was meant as a compliment to zionists and their soldiers.
