[Houshang] Vatanpour, who left Iran with his family six years ago to escape religious persecution, last made contact with Freedom Cab officials about 7:45 p.m. July 2.His slashed and burned body was found that night by Justin firefighters just west of Alliance Airport in Denton County.  Working nonstop on tips and leads, authorities arrested Whitehead and Ohlfs at her Argyle home a few days later, and Stephens was arrested in Haltom City. Stephens told authorities that he and Whitehead were in the taxi when Vatanpour was hit over the head with a glass bottle and then stabbed. Whitehead then called Ohlfs and told her to bring gasoline and a shovel, authorities have said. Vatanpour was then doused with gasoline and set on fire, authorities have said.

Iranian cab driver murdered

Very very sad.  He was a Bahai who had left Iran with his wife and four children six years ago.  God bless his soul.

This is why I support California's "3 strikes" laws. Even at that young age, the two male suspects were career criminals who should not have been free. Some people are like sharks, just roaming around victimizing people whenever they see an opportunity. It was only a matter of time before they killed somebody.
