A spokesman for Iranian opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi called on the European Parliament on Wednesday to pressure EU nations not to recognize the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Makhmalbaf said Ahmadinejad's government and clerical hard-liners in Tehran are "endangering the peace" in the Middle East. He said Ahmadinejad's government was now a "100 percent dictatorship" that needed to be challenged. (AP)

by capt_ayhab on Wed Jul 08, 2009 02:49 PM PDTThat would be giving IR all the propaganda tools to call the green movement as being sponsored by outsiders. this is not to say that they haven't done that already.
Makhmalbaf is in fact unofficial spokesperson for Mousavi. The link was posted on Twitter this AM #iranelection which is a credible source. My reservation is though how come EU has not announced it If true?

by rosie is roxy is roshan on Wed Jul 08, 2009 02:33 PM PDTSo what are you saying, Ayhab, it would be political suicide because it would imply that the legitimacy of the president is not just an internal affair?
and wgm, where did you read he denied it?
and anon, Makhmalbaf IS his 'unofficial' spokesperson in the 'West.' Or am I wrong?
Dear Anonymous8
by capt_ayhab on Wed Jul 08, 2009 01:33 PM PDTI am not defending the news, and as yourself I am rather pessimistic about it validity. Because this act would be a suicide to Mousavi and all of his supporters. But as FYI, Y.net has quoted the news from Associated Press.

Mousavi had denied that he made this statement
by wgm1919 on Wed Jul 08, 2009 12:46 PM PDTThanks.
This is sensationalist propaganda
by Anonymous8 on Wed Jul 08, 2009 12:02 PM PDTMakhmalbaf is nobodies spokesman. Mousavi would never say that. Who is EU to recognize anybody?
