Israeli hypocrisy on Iran

Israeli President Shimon Peres applauded Iran's pro-reform protesters in remarks Sunday. In that same weekend, Israeli forces dispersed a peaceful Palestinian march in the West Bank city of Hebron, attacking the protesters with batons and rifle butts, and wounding three protesters. Peres says, let the young people in Iran "raise their voice for freedom." Meanwhile, Israel has been denying freedom to Palestinians for more than 40 years, maintaining a brutal occupation and oppression in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This past week, 40 United Nations and international humanitarian agencies called on Israel to end its Gaza blockade, to no avail.

Isreal can help the current crisis

by azadi55 (not verified) on

Think of it, if Israel launches another big air and ground attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon or Syria, it would draw these Arab forces that are currently beating and killing the protesters out back to their homeland, to fight against Israelis. Not only that, it may even draw some of IRI Basijis along. Then the fear machine of IRI will be too stretched thin to have its impact, they will lose on the streets of Iran and they will lose on Lebanon/Syria front.

But if there is any shame, any decency at all, there won't be any support for such racist regime such as Israel. As we deplore, criticize and willing to fight for the voices in Iran, we must do at least the same for Palestinians as they have been oppressed for far too long with far harsher brutality.
