Defeated candidate Mirhossein Mousavi demanded on Sunday that Iran's presidential election be annulled and urged more protests, while tens of thousands of people hailed the victory of the hardline Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Mousavi's supporters again took to the streets after violence on Saturday, clashing with police in protests that have underscored political rifts exposed by Friday's disputed vote. In a statement on his website, Mousavi said he had formally asked the Guardian Council, a legislative body, to cancel the election result. "I urge you, Iranian nation, to continue your nationwide protests in a peaceful and legal way," he added.

Mossawi and the election.

by Mehdi Mazloom on

No Javeed ahga,. Moussawi should seek to overturn the whole despotic regime, send the backwards packing to the deserts of south Iran. then call for new elections for a whole new and secular government.

it's rotten at the core...

by who cares what i say! (not verified) on

it really doesn't matter who's next!

- brand ruling party A vs brand ruling party X
- this ideology vs that ideology
- bearded party vs plucked eye brows party
- this stripped uniform vs. that pock a dot uniform
- pro west vs pro sattern vs pro south east north pole

as soon as the next (for the lack of better name) Iranian get to power the same o will happen. Impositions, suppression, exclusive networks, divisions and chaapeedan e resources.

TAHMEEL
TAHMEEL
TAHMEEL

The core issue is Iranians...it has always been. we turn against our own, alienate our loved ones, brutalize ham noee and baradar koshee...

we are a culture of TAHMEELI. Tahmeel is at the core of our every DNA strand. we simply have been wired for the past few thousand years to impose our views and disregard other's...jamming it down ham noee's throat.

Iranians are addicted to follow. Always looking for a leader/rahbar to follow and brown nose to increase and protect own benefits.

the Iranian great sociologist molla nasrudin knew this ingrained trait intimately: "chera peyadeh beram vaghtee ke in hameh khar hast." So do all the mollahs!

We can't think independently nor in harmony.

The true meaning of HAM AAHANGI has not sunk in after a few thousand years. We swing from one dictatorship to another. We create them and we end up eating their shit for many years to come.

a simple tally of different views (Tahmeeli views) among all Iranian (in our immediate family, parents, friends, parties, groups, bloggs, teams, social networks, etc, etc) shows clearly that we simply don't have the programming that allows and respects an ounce of another's perspective.

Iranians (not Iran) need to undergo a fundamental detoxification. how? hell if I know. If god couldn't do it, how can anyone bandeh do?

how about this start:

- not looking for the next leader/rahbar
- learn the true essence of ham aahangi
- leadership is not about creating followers nor to follow one
- find the leader in you
- be who you are
- let others be who they are
- yet work in harmony (easier said than done:)
- it's ok to be different
- communicate not impose
- learn to listen
- it's not about Iran
- what value rocks, trees, sand and fence have without humans?
- envision it's all about humanity not flags and borders
- love the human for what it is not what you dictate it should be
- learn a lesson or two from nature and how its elements work in harmony next to each other
- as humans we can do a lot better than nature
- don't just be concerned about your own benefits
- learn to enjoy others prosper
- then create a social system that works like nature, different in parts but in harmony

I consider your comments about me as a complement. Thank god you don't like my comments.

There was a story in our school books in Iran that someone told Loghman-e-hakim the village idiot had said something complementary about him. Loghman responded in despair, "what have I done to please this idiot?

Same here.

I know! Are you kidding me asking such a stupid question?

by gol-dust on

Election is under president's control. What evidence has he shown that he has won? He should show the evidence, not Mousavi! You're an idiot IRI supporter! You are not worthy of much more response!

The "Rahbar" has formally approved the results of...

by Ostaad on

the "election". So why is Mr. Mousavi banging his head against the mollahcracy wall expecting different results?!! Some say doing that is the definition of insanity. What evidence has he offered his battered and humiliated supporters to show them and the world the "election" results are "unbelievable"? What is stopping him from being candid, open and honest with the Iranian people? Does anyone know?!!!
