NCRI - Students from the University of Babolsar (northern Iran) raised questions about the role of the Iranian regime’s former prime minister, Mirhossein Moussavi, in the 1988 massacre of political prisoners during his visit to the university on Monday, May 4, 2009.
When Moussavi dodged their questions, students quickly retorted by chants of “Mirhossein, give us an answer about 1988.”

I based my questioning on previous experiences with news sources realting to the MKO/PMOI.

I have the right to question anything actually if you didn't know. So do you. So does everyone!

More, nobody is claiming there are no tears for them beside you, it seems.

What I was questioning was the fact that the students asked Mousavi those questions, but now the same thing has happened in Babol, news of which I've posted.

That's IF we're not talking about the same thing.

Parham,
I am surprised that while video and photos have come out on this event you doubt its validity just because the information was given to us (note, no one else is responsbile enough to broadcast this piece of news)by a group you don't necessarily agree with. Those kids who were killed in 1988 were innocent and it is shameful for anyone to claim there are no tears for them. They had lives just like you and I. As a human being, I can't understand the acceptance of brutality exhibited by Mahmoudg and others who think like him.

No one else in this world, except the Iranian Regime approves of massacres. Unlike Mahmoudg, I don't get paid to post comments and voice my opinion.

Yes, there are meetings where students ask 'very' candid questions and say a lot of candid things -- case in point Larijani's visit to Shiraz University.

But the subject of the mass killings of 1988 has very much remained a taboo so far, that's why I challenged the piece of news.

I don't know if you've noticed but actually, so far everything that relates back to Khomeyni has remained a no-no due to scare tactics. Even the "reformists" scare each other by accusing one another of having said something against what Khomeyni has said or done!

FYI, I asked Abtahi that question (about the mass murders) twice, and he didn't even come back with one word.

They are not couched. They are freer than many think and have more guts to stand for what they believe.

The small steps have been taking to prepare the Iranians towards democracy. That's where we are headed.

I am not 100% certain as to the extend of actual questions asked, however, my sister and my brother in Iran who are in academics were telling me in fact when there is such a [town hall] meeting in the universities students do ask very candid questions.

Now again whether those students who ask those questions are in fact free thinkers or having been coached I can not, neither my siblings verify it.

I found the news rather interesting that is why I posted it.

Although loss of human life is regrettable, but the Mujahhedin are worse than the current theocratic regime.  we will never change one regime for a one who will turn out to be more of a blood sucker than the one already in the seat of power.  Anything that smells like, tastes like and looks like Islamic Theology (just look the Rajavi's dress) will never be allowed to run Persia again.

Are we sure this bit of news is true?
It comes from the NCRI web site (NCRI = MKO = Mojahedin Khalgh)

I, personally, have seen a lot of fabrications and exaggerations in their reporting in the past. That's why I am challenging the veracity and/or the exactitude of this report.

saying "I have no recollection" of THAT, boys and girls. Why dodge the question when there's such an eloquent and convincing answer?! That's all.
