Seven Iranian-Americans confess collecting money for anti-Iran terrorists loyal to the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO). The MKO is blacklisted as a terrorist organization by many international entities and countries, including the US. "With jury selection in the case underway, the seven defendants each pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and one count of actually providing material support to the group," AFP quoted a statement released by the Justice Department. The seven face up to 20 years in jail over the charges, after having been indicted for the first time by a federal grand jury in Los Angeles in 2001.

Coincidence

The other day I was talking with the father of one of my daughter's teammates at  their volleyball practice. It turned out that his wife, a chief US Attorney, is prosecuting this case against the MKO members in Orange County. Evidently they had to move the venue  away from LA for some technical reason.

"The group, which identifies itself as a Marxist-Islamist guerilla army..." Where has the MKO identified itself as "Marxist-Islamist"? This has always been a label, first by the SAVAK and then by the IRI and now apparently by their supporters on the Left. Whether or not they are "anti-Iran" as opposed to anti-IRI is also open to interpretation. It shows the American Left is as ignorant as the American Right when it comes to anyone outside their borders.
