U.N. Says Iran Broke Weapons Ban

The U.S. called on the United Nations to take action after a Security Council committee said Iran violated international sanctions banning it from exporting munitions, which the U.S. says were headed to Syria. A U.S. official said the incident occurred Jan. 19 and 20, when the Cypriot-flagged Monchegorsk, which originated in Iran, was boarded in the Red Sea by the USS San Antonio. The ship was ordered to port in Cyprus, where authorities there found 1,980 wooden cases of powder for 130mm guns and 1,320 cases of powder and powder pellets for 125mm guns, according to a Cypriot government report reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

I do try to be fair, but they make it really hard!  No matter how critical I am of IRI's policies inside Iran, I don't want any other country to bully and threaten it.  I don't want an attack on Iran and I don't believe in "surgical" operations.  I detect and dislike the demonization and the dehumanization which goes on against Iran.  Having said all of that, I am extremely upset by IRI's repeatedly putting its foot in mouth, engaging in adventures which will further isolate it and cause the Iranian nation harm.  Getting caught red-handed, if this is what this piece of news is, weakens IRI's positions in its more legitimate struggles.

I think I am deeply disappointed at the mediocrity and stupidity of some people in the Iranian government, whose mistakes, faux pas, and stupid and uncalculated words have unleashed unnecessary and costly backlashes from the international community, hurting Iranian people.

Yes, I know quite well that there are bigger bullies and a lot worse conduct on the part of several countries in the world, but I think none of that excuses the IRI to have its fingers in too many things each of which is a waste of resources for Iran.  You know better than me about the millions of Iranian youth who need to be trained and tooled and employed to stay away from drugs and depression, and the money which is spent in helping and supporting other countries should be spent on helping them who are the future of Iran.

بله ولی خوب هميشه قضاوت  بايستی كه دو طرفه (جنبه) باشد. اگر تمام اشكال را از ايران بدانيم كمی بی انصافيست.
