At 72, Magazine columnist Laurie Taylor took a belated and brief plunge into the notoriously tough world of that stand-up comedy. Shappi Khorsandi didn't say it but I could feel that her principal worry about my first appearance as a stand-up was not my capacity to make people laugh but my ability to manage the standing up part of the proceedings.
