Recalling the Ayatollah's return

It was one of the key events of the 20th century. Thirty years ago, religious leader Ayatollah Khomeini returned to Iran from exile and launched an Islamic revolution. The BBC's John Simpson was on the plane that flew the Ayatollah to Tehran. In the village of Neauphle-le-Chateau, outside Paris, not an awful lot has changed in the past 30 years. The street, the gardens, even the green wooden gate which Ayatollah Khomeini used to pass through on his way to prayer, are all there still - though his headquarters was blown up not long after he went back to Iran.

February 1, 1979: Day of Naqba for Iran

by Mehdi Mazloom on

That day when Khomeini had landed in Iran, should be marked as the day of Naqbah for the Iranian people. This is the day when the glorious history of Persia was set back by 1000 years.

This is the day when Iran's soul and heritage was sold by these backward Mullah to the Arabs who came from the desert of Arabia and forced their barberic and backward Sharia law on the proud  Faras.

It was small steps (off the plane) for Ayatollah Khomeini. And big steps against the future of the Iranian people.

Look whos talking? BBC! Are you kidding me?

In Algeria 300,000 were killed early and during 1990s and as we say in persian "Aab az Aab tekon nakhord" ! Why the double standard !

By the way, the man gave 3-4 interviews daily, let us assume he gave 15 interviews each week, 60 a mounth which in turn corresponds to 360 interviews during his 6 month stay! Assuming the poor old guy had the weekends off! :-)
