Give me a break! What is it that these guys ever done that really benefited Israel anyway, except to give meaningless excuses for antisemites to bash her? Israel goes through so much, so many of her best youth are put in harms way and sacrificed to ensure the minimum possible civilian casualty, and then you have the chief rabbi issues such nonsense. What is it to him anyways? It's not as if they or their yeshiva pupils serve in the military anyway. If they are such tough guys, why is it they hold so tight to their military exemptions for all these years. It is easy to live off the blood and sweat of everyone else in the country and issue such nonsense every once in a while.

The same type of people used to call great men like Ben-Gurion "dirty Jews" before. The intentional mass killings of defenseless populations is a standard practice of the Israel military. Israel's bloody history is filled with such heinous crimes.

The depth and breadth of Israeli crimes perplexes fair-minded people's minds all over the world as they attempt to comprehend and digest the reasons behind such Israeli barbarism. Civilized minds are compelled to look deeper into the history and traditions of Israel. Bill Moyers has simply held the mirror of Jewish biblical history of violence in front of us. One can look into that mirror and see oneself, or one can refuse to look and break the mirror into pieces.

Looking into the mirror will reveal us to ourselves and will teach us, if we open our minds and hearts, that violence begets violence.

Isreal, since its inception, has always chosen to break the mirror. A broken mirror shatters into pieces. The angry, hateful face of Israel is now reflecting off a thousand mirrors.

Not Just Israel

but ANYONE who uses it in that manner....Zion, you know that I am not an Israel basher...I am disappointed and sickened by this war, and I think that Israel was wrong in its attack on a defenseless civilian population...you and I have debated this before, and we disagree on it...let's look forward to the day that we can agree again..:-)

I'm glad that you think he is a**hole as well.  No, it does not justify anti-Semitism (which is something that I have always fought against on this site as you know).  I was just pointing out that there are idiots everywhere. 

As far as the ammunitaion used, it is not illegal.  However, its use in densely populated area is really not permitted under the laws of war.  Here's and excerpt from Human Rights watch's article on it:

" Israel appeared to be using white phosphorus as an "obscurant" (a chemical used to hide military operations), a permissible use in principle under international humanitarian law (the laws of war). However, white phosphorus has a significant, incidental, incendiary effect that can severely burn people and set structures, fields, and other civilian objects in the vicinity on fire. The potential for harm to civilians is magnified by Gaza's high population density, among the highest in the world. "

Same thing with israel's use of 155 mm artillery shells in Gaza, which cause massive civilian casualties.  While 155 mm artillery is legal, its use in densely populated areas is against international laws of war because it causes indiscriminate casulaties in the civilian population.  Here's the link on that issue from HRW:

I doubt the Rabbi would mention anything about genetically coded violence in Jewish blood. That was really the main red flag to reveal the stink behind people like Moyers.
What is more, the chief Rabbi is not the one who plans attacks or decides policies. He just makes irrelevant nonsense rants every once in a while [That is what chief rabbis do. :-)]
This particular stuff is also one of them which only proves the chief sephardic rabbi is a total a**hole. Nothing else.

no one should draw parallels between biblical (or Quranic) gibberish and modern events.  That's when we get to the realm of indiscriminate killings, wars and genocide.  Bin Laden and the like are guilty of these crimes against humanity.  But to be fair to Mr. Moyers, and on the issue of continuity, didn't the former Israeli chief rabbi do the same thing here where he tried to justify the indiscriminate killing of Gaza civilians by quoting biblical stories?
